Pleased to report that my HSV is no longer poorly, initially it was the fuel pump in the tank that was failing, after replacement, driving home from collection it died to find that the alternator/rectifier had been pumping out 36v which bowed the battery, fried some wiring & took out the auxiliary fuel pump, now all rectified/replaced thanks primarily to the donor car (A57 HSV) and those nice chappies at LSV, Doug & Mark.

570 bhp at 5,600, 590 ft-lbs at 4,800 which I think I can live with. (for now at least) and before you ask, figures are at the flywheel, will have print outs when I collect it.

Just got to figure out a way of getting to Wellingborough without using the lousy rail network (nearly 5 hours from Portsmouth!)

Fantastic news! That's some pretty sweet power as well ! Although with a centrifugal blower like yours I'm suprised it peaked so early, usually these things just wanna keep on going! I wonder how long it will be before you up the boost, I'll start the bidding at 3 months!

Well I wanted torque over BHP so maybe thats why, you are probally right about the 3 months but need to enjoy the car for a while first, quieter exhaust on the horizon, down to 5 penalty points now too so back to stealth mode soon and maybe....

yeah great news - just remember to put the half a ton of sand in the back to keep the rear wheels on the road when you plant the right pedal

No need for that Well Fans, the boot always carries the following ballast:130 amp hour marine batt + 84 amp hour lorry batt,
250 watt actice sub, tv, 1k watt amp, DVD stack units, etc., I know the car is 1950 KG & 200 of that is in the boot!

Brilliant news Will, glad parts of my old car live on in a proper S/Ced HSV. Hope your run of bad luck is over & wishing you many happy HSV driving hours.

Thank you Tom, for your post & your accident - if you will excuse me putting it that way. LSV overhauled the alternator, used the aux fuel pump & replaced its wiring and everything tickety boo. If it breaks down again I will have an insurmountable task in convincing MRS V8 HSV that it is worth keeping, she has just had second thoughts on buying an HSV due to my poor track record of reliability, hopefully if it stays together I just might be able to convince her that is essence they are bullet proof cars if not tampered with, time will tell.

More importantly Will, is it worth selling? You could always get insured by N-U, fit a harness, wear a padded suit and helmet & then come to Bristol. I know the route the mental van driver takes!
As an update, the Police want to prosecute her, down to the CPS to decide if they want to go ahead.
Tell Mrs V8 HSV that both my cars were the most reliable I've ever had, amongst the cheapest to service as well. Wouldn't a nice girly coupe suit her?

Rather sell body parts than loose my precious steed but at the end of the day it just a motor car and with both our houses on the market the 'car' should not be such a high priority, if it breaks now it will just have to stat off the road till I pawn the smart, mind you I have given the Cabrio to a dealership for disposal, that will pay for recents bills.

Dianne will not allow me to take the HSV to Monaco though, not a smart fan really but she wants to go in the smart now, shame really as the HSV is really designed for such a jaunt.

Shame, still you save a few quid on fuel. I'd have loved to have driven my HSV to Monaco though. A 4dr HSV is a very rare sight in Europe as you know.

Errrrr excuse me!!!!!

No thumb prints ... I just dont fancy breaking down in some remote location on the way to Monaco! Its all right braking down locally, that can be sorted out, but in France, no thanks. Lingo problems and the problem of getting the HSV back home ... as well as ourselves! This is upposed to be a stress-free holiday!

A57HSV .... I like the HSV as a car and it would suit me down to the ground ... fast, comfortable! Business travel would be a dream! What more could I ask for? If Will can keep his car on the road for a month, thereby proving its reliability .... I'll be straight off to LSV to pick my car up

Just dropped Will off at the train station ............ SO!!
We will have nice shiny black monster back later today ... known as the HSV!
I miss it's presence in the driveway when it goes away ... geeze I'm getting affectionate about a car, that'll never do!

Hmmmm! Didnt know that! So anybody needing parts had better get thier orders in pretty smartish!
Yeah, you're right ... Mr and Mrs HSV would be pretty cool. Geeze! Wish I had an HSV today, I've just driven 200 miles, up hill and down dale, could certainly have done with the comfort of a Holden!
