No no no, black VXR's are cl*t cars, every c**ts got one.

Nice car, personally I'd choose silver for the VXR but red is always going to be best of all.

Ordinarily I would agree with you Nige, got to be red, but there's something about the 05 VXR in black, brings me out in goosebumps!

Hope you get a better response from the dealers than I have recently.4 out of 8 dealers haven't bothered to return my enquiry, which is why I'm now going to drive the RS4

What is it with car dealers at the moment, I have requested contact from a number recently and only 3 have bothered.

Our local Monaro Dealer has a lovely brand spanking new Red VXR sitting in the show room and a couple of Black VXR's on PDI. I'm very tempted to see what trade I could get on my Yellow 05 CV8

Wow my Mum is awesome!

6.0l VXR vs. RS4 IMO:

6.0l > 4.2l
HSV > Audi
£37,500 < £50,000

Lol, I can't wait to get the VXR

Of course we won't be able to leave it alone because it has less power than we do now, are those headers ready yet Wortec?

Will always prefer the VXR, but 4 doors!!!! A worthy alternative. Different, quick and very effective.

I know its not black, but Picador have a very well prepped red one with all sorts of goodies on at a very reasonable price given the cost of the extra's.

Great news Brian, hopefully you will have the car in time for the Porchester meet at beginning of May (date to be decided on and posted here). Would be good to see you and Dan there. Black the way to go. We saw a mates silver VXR on Friday at the WHEELS event, and he has added some carbon fibre strips to the rear of the car, looked very nice and very effective, either side of the rear fog light.

With respect, that car has probabaly had a hard life, ( why would you want launch control otherwise) and the £2550 it cost new is worthless in monetary terms secondhand, so TBH it's not a particular bargain.

Thanks Mose, I'm probably going to wait until June/July though as a little bird told me there might be a very tasty 6.0l coming on the market! I'll still try and pop along to this meet though if I can.

Wasn't trying to score points, I owned a bloody HSV for 4 yearsI was moaning about the dealers, but if you insist
RS4 0-100 10.5 secs. 4 wheel drive, 4 doors,.. or...6.0ltr VXR 0-100 12.6 secs 2 wheel drive, 2 doors. And we won't mention the D word.Looks a bit more even now doesn't it? You can make figures say whatever you want, ask Tony and his cronies.

Yep the RS4 is a nice car Caspy, certainly one to keep us on our toes! 4WD is a big advantage but in some ways I prefer RWD, less drivetrain loss and tail happy fun!

Yeah but it won't take very much money at all to switch those figures around... AWD is why it scores such a good 0-100 time and also some of us prefer the two doors, IMO the 6.0l is a far sexier car than the RS4. I wouldn't put a poster of an RS4 on my bedroom wall put it that way but I do have one of the VXR!
