Yep the RS4 is a nice car Caspy, certainly one to keep us on our toes! 4WD is a big advantage but in some ways I prefer RWD, less drivetrain loss and tail happy fun!

Drive train loss is hardly a relevance, a TVR 4.5 Cerbera only ever makes about 360 of its claimed 420 BHP but there's hardly anything quicker in a straight line .

Yeah but it won't take very much money at all to switch those figures around... AWD is why it scores such a good 0-100 time and also some of us prefer the two doors, IMO the 6.0l is a far sexier car than the RS4. I wouldn't put a poster of an RS4 on my bedroom wall put it that way but I do have one of the VXR!

To gain over 2 secs to 100 in a heavy car is gonna cost more than " not much money", 4 wheel drive will help a 0-30 time, have not much impact on a 0-60 time and zero impact on a 0-100 time.Oh and if the wife would allow, I think Demi Moore, Pammmy, and Kelly Brook are a lot more likely to be on my bedroom wall than a Monaro or an RS4.
My original post was a swipe at the dealers, not a diss at Monaros (which are the best value car of its type around, and I'm still looking for one FFS), but frankly this forum is degenerating into a playground of " my cars better than your car" by the day.

Gonna put my head above parapit here.

I still think the car at Picador is good value, if you add up cost of all mods (over 5k) then look at price relative to most other cars of same age, there is only a 2k difference.

And all i hear on here are jokey comments about people who have passion and enthusiasm for their cars vs others. My comment was actually a vote for the Audi!!!

One thing that seems apparent is that the light heartedness and confidence of people to post, is being eroded by the constant critisism by others. (Just like this one i guess)

We all have bad days, lets not use the forum as a place to let off steam!!!

I haven't IMHO, just defended my judgement. As someone who has E-mailed members privately to try and keep people together on this forum, and as someone who never posted his thoughts on his last car for fear of pissing people off and it looking it like bragging rights,( thats how bad it's got)I think it's time for me to take a break as well.
Oh and Brian ,YHM !

Not trying to 'diss' (silly word innit ) anything but out of interest I have owned a Cerbera and A. It was not much quicker than my HSV in the 'real world', and with 3Ks worth of NOS not in the same league, B. It did not handle as well and C. It was off the road more times than on due to various breakdowns which is why I got rid of it. No breakdowns at all with either of my HSVs (he said tempting fate!).

No comparison also between German cars.......even V8 engined ones...........and HSV / Holden / Monaro IMHO. I have also owned an A8 4.2 Quattro and own an M5. My HSV gives me a huge grin every time I drive it. The Audi and BMW didn't / doesn't.

I agree , read my profile and you'll see what I thought of the HSV, best car I ever owned, had 4 TVRs,HSV,Noble etc.I cannot for the life of me understand why this thread has gone into a car comparision thread again. All I did was mention I was going to try another car!

This is my last post for a while, it's simply not an enjoyable forum anymore, so getting back on track, Booster I hope you enjoy the car when it arrives, and a big cheer for Mrs Booster.

sorry to hear of one of my new friends leaving. RS4 excellent car if i was in the postion to afford one, it would have made the decision to buy my monaro harder, but you can not beat the rarity value. as for performance per pound give up your creature comforts like staying dry and buy a caterham.

Wow my Mum is awesome!

6.0l VXR vs. RS4 IMO:

6.0l > 4.2l
HSV > Audi
£37,500 < £50,000

Lol, I can't wait to get the VXR

Wasn't trying to score points, I owned a bloody HSV for 4 yearsI was moaning about the dealers, but if you insist
RS4 0-100 10.5 secs. 4 wheel drive, 4 doors,.. or...6.0ltr VXR 0-100 12.6 secs 2 wheel drive, 2 doors. And we won't mention the D word.Looks a bit more even now doesn't it? You can make figures say whatever you want, ask Tony and his cronies.

But an RS4 is (cringes) an Audi. My god, I know which car I would rather own. I have never understood why ppl play on the depreciation factor or why it even gets montioned. Every car depreciates, so why bother mentioning it?
