OK so it was to a friend who loved the car but still the monaro is sold (but not gone, he's still in Saudi Arabia working for British Aerospace), I've told him about the forum so hopefully he'll be on here soon. Some of you met him at the Virgina Waters meet - another Paul. Now where'd I leave the keys to that VXR?

Well as it's a mate I did drop the price more than I would have for anyone else. But I think it's fair to say that he got himself a bit if a bargain

Oh, and did I mention that having it kept in such good condition was one of the factors that helped make the sale

Hi all - I'm new to this site (& this car) so any help would be much appreciated! Yeah, all being well, I've bought Brians CV8...tried to give him more money but he just wouldn't have it!!! My home is in N.Wales...does anyone know of a dealer in the area qualified to service 'me motor'? I agree that it's an exceptional car all round...the condition is better that 'showroom' but, I have to say, I don't have the same amount of time to spend on it as Brian does. But it WILL be well cared for & NOT abused. Well, not too much!!! Where did you get the cover for it from Bri?

Welcome to the club Paul!! I currently get my cover from Admiral but others here will chip in I'm sure with others that are good too. I think you can do a search on this forum somewhere too.

You're going to have a great time driving that car. Stretch your cheek muscles as they will start to ache from grinning so much!

Aha! Got that from Linden Special Vehicles (LSV). I think they're having a sale at the moment. Caught it in another thread somewhere.

Welcome Paul,

Nice to see another CV8 in the North Wales area. I'm on the coast and provided Mr Brunstrom's boys aren't looking, you'll soon be enjoying your beast on some of the best rural roads around

Slaters in Colwyn Bay are the main dealer for Monaro's, VX220's & VXR's in Wales. I've not had mine serviced there yet, as I've only just reached 5k so I can't personally vouch for them. I'm sure other forum members might be able to give you an idea what they are like on that front.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for you somewhere..

Paul

Many thanks for that Paul - another Paul? Bri did tell me thtere were a few on the Monaro forum...didn't expect quite so many though! Hope to meet up with you as soon as I get mine - that won't be 'til July though on the current time scale Bri & I have agreed on & then not all that much as I live & work in Saudi for 43 weeks of the year!

There is one thing I'm trying to find out & thats if there's a good, competative insurance Co around, to give me a quote! Privilege have given me an idea but they didn't ask if the car was modded or not, so that one isn't a 'safe' quote - the other I've tried is Admiral who want me to ring them first! That'll have to wait 'til I'm home in May then! Any Co's you can recommend?

Yes, based on 4yrs no claims and fast approaching middle age - fully comp (plus the little lady) and declared Wortec exhaust, mine was £670.00 with Elephant.
