Can anybody tell me where I can get a really reliable, solid performance remap done please? Any ideas. I am in Livingston, West Lothian.

Thanks

nowhere up here thats for sure. All the usual suspects down south that you'll see mentioned on here though Doug @ LSV seems willing to come up and collect cars, take them away and tune them before returning them in their enhanced state. Assuming of course you don't mind paying a bit more to avoid the 5hr drive each way. They've also been in the game importing HSV's for a number of years now so should have plenty experience.

Try Monkfish Performance, Wortec Agents in Brackley. They were very helpful to me although I only had to travel from Gtr. Manchester but still a long way. Wortec map your car on the road and the result is truly spectacular! I've used a lot of tuning companies and hand-on-heart recommend them without hesitation

I believe different software is used for the VT I. Kalmaker used to do tuning software for the VN to VS commodores. I think this is the stuff you need for the VT I.

Sincere apologies........just checked on the 5 litre iron block VT1. Apparently nothing to gain by a remap.

LSV have owned at least two 5.0l cars as I've driven them, so I'd speak to Mark @ LSV regards what can be done.
I'd imagine the usual bigger/freer flowing exhaust along with improved/cooler air intake would give a useful boost in bhp.
I borrowed a manual 5.0l (a purply blue colour) for the day once, I really enjoyed it, not as sophisticated as the Chevy engines, but very characterful.

Thanks for all your input guys. It's the 5.7 Iron block (with the stroker Harrop crank) which is the one I particularly wanted as it was the last proper all Aussie motor but as we have established is proving a little harder to tune. I have heard from Doug at LSV and he is looking into what he can do for me. I think It'll involve a piggyback ecu though. If (more likely when) I go down that road I'll probably go for the Starr performance manifold, 90mm throttle body and matching MAF. Major improvements from what I hear and then go for the piggyback tune. Nice to see you are al welcoming to new (though not new to Holdens) members of the forum. I look forward to meeting some of you soon.

Hi Will, sorry not on net at new place so very late reply.

Car not tuned by Wortec, exhaust and brakes only from them, no software available for tune, kalmaker required as previously suggested, LSV offered a nice package for new management system and tune if anyone interested.

Hope to see you soon

Mike
