Hello everybody, my father and I are likely going to be buying a Pontiac GTO in the very near future. As you probably know, GM simply imports Monaro's directly and rebadges them. I absolutely love the car, but he is hesitant. So:

On our test drives, I found the ride to be very comfortable. However, a short test drive won't really give the same experience that we might have on our respective daily commutes. So to anyone that daily drives one, is it comfortable? How is the Aircon/heater? How are the windshield wipers in the rain? Does the clutch tire out your foot? Anything to watch out for?

Thanks for responses in advance, and wish us luck at the stealership!

From my experience - and I'm a little biased - it's probably one of the most comfortable cars I've owned. It's a little wallowy in the corners but I'd expect nothing more from a stock setup.
The wipers are fine. No better or worse than any other car I've driven.

Anything to look out for? Nothing so far.

Hi, and welcome.

Word of caution, the Monaro is not a rebadged Pontiac. There some fairly big differences, interior, wheels, suspension etc etc. Just compare specs. Otherwise, again one of the most comfortable and best riding cars i have driven.

If anything the GTO is a re-badged Monaro, NOT the other way round.

Doh sorry, wrong user, it was me There are a few differences e.g. softer suspension I think, rubbish 17" wheels and that awful spoiler as standard but then again they do cost ~£17000 new!!!

Caspy read your post and saw 'not a re-badged pontiac' which was what I was referring to!
