Bosch AM26U driver side AM16U passenger side for vxr8, courtesey of Monaro5.7.
I would recommend the use of AM15U on the passenger side, the current AM16U blade catches on the edge of the drivers blade and causes it to try and flip!

I been looking into this as my R8 ones have perished and I believe there the original Part. My passenger side is indeed 15" & not 16" which is a shame as you can get the Corsa D as a set. Do the bosh ones have the correct fixing to the arm or do I need to change some bits around

yikes

You can get cheaper than this, I bet Bosch wipers would not cost that.

I got goodyear wipers from costco and they cost about £6.50. Seem to work fine but haven't tested them at speed.

The felt/rubber weatherseals at the bases of both door windows on the Monaro can perish. This may allow grit to enter, which can lead to vertical scratches on the glass as the window is raised/lowered.

Part numbers according to my Vauxhall dealer are 0092093578 (right) and 0092093580 (left). Those part numbers appear to check out with the pdf of Pontiac GTO parts available on wikiauto (see the section on “Front Door” on the 10th page): http://www.wikiauto.com/Pontiac-GTO-2004-2006-Majo...

They are about £60 plus VAT each new. Labour from a Vauxhall dealer to fit was £51 plus VAT (0.6 hr), which suggests it's not a huge job.

As well as EBC mentioned earlier, DBA (Disc Brakes Australia) manufacture replacement brake discs for the Monaro. If you want to replace your discs with those of the same size as the originals, the DBA part numbers are as follows.

2004 Monaro CV8 5.7 (and 2004 Pontiac GTO 5.7)

Front: DBA040 296mm x 83mm x 28mm
Rear: DBA041 286mm x 78.6mm x 16mm

2005/06 Monaro CV8 5.7 (and 2005/06 Pontiac GTO 6.0)

Front: DBA2020 320mm x 83mm x 32mm
Rear: DBA2021 286mm x 80mm x 18mm

2004 Monaro VXR 5.7 and 2005/06 Monaro VXR 6.0

Front: DBA4048 330mm x 83mm x 32mm
Rear: DBA4049 315mm x 71mm x 18mm

The above part numbers for the CV8’s are for the standard "street series" discs. For the "4000 series" the part numbers are preceded by a “4” e.g. DBA42020 instead of DBA2020, and for the "5000 series" by a “5”. The VXR discs do not come in street series, only 4000 series and up, hence they are DBA4048.

For the slotted versions add S on the end, for cross-drilled add X, and for slotted and drilled add XS. e.g. DBA42020S are 4000 series front discs with slots for a 2005 CV8.

The Valeo equivalent to this pack for the VXR8 is Valeo VM432.

(Eurocarparts ref 485774735 (link correct at time of typing this).

Similar money to the Bosch set (ECP are always running discounts - I payed £20). Box is labelled as "Fiat Grande Punto... do not panic.

EDIT - I did a trial-fit after posting the above. The Valeo wipers require a slight mod. There is a pointed "tang" on the clip area that needs to be removed with a craft knife (5mins max). The tang is evident on both wipers, but one side only. Once removed the fitment/spacing is as-per original-fit. Original wiper at the top of the image, valeo below. Pointy tang visible towards the left hand side.

Not sure if this will be of any help, however, have found a web site with a list of some DTC codes, look under Vauxhall for the VXR8, Pontiac for the G8 and Holden for the VZ and some others.

May come in handy.

Monaro Top Mounts

Are you top mounts knackered????

well there is the answer.

do your top mounts sit proud of the top of the suspension strut like the pictures below or worse?

Near Side

Of Side

if so your top mounts are knackered and need replacing.

it is advisable to replace the top mount bearings at the same time.

if you know one end of a spanner from another replacing the bearings and top mounts is a home DIY job all you need is a jack some axle stands and a decent socket set and some silicon grease to generously smear over the top mounts before fitting.

Hi All
is there a wheel fitment thread anywhere? it would be goo to know what size and off set wheels will fit with no body mods or just rolling the arches? I think wider wheels on the rear are required
