Oh no, I've just been spanking out figures and I can afford one!!!!

Problem is, I'm about 600 miles away from the car, up here in Edinburgh. Do you deliver and take away trade ins?

take it you still had no luck with Belmont then Ali? My local Vauxhall dealer said he'd investigate the Network Q path for you and see what he could do if you were serious. Let me know if you want his contact details.

Apparently the VXR should be available to view at Belmont on Monday!!! Wonders will never cease. But a brand new one with all the good bits for only £8k more is so tempting!!! I want an absolute mint car. Belmont tell me this one is, but the one G8RUM saw down in Darlington was also supposed to be mint, neraly new and only 3k on the clock and it was junk! Dents, scratches, crash damage....I'm approaching with suspicion.

And then there's the small matter of seeing a C5 Z06 sell for £23k on Pistonheads!!! It's got me thinking. Love the 'Ro, but 'Vettes are my real passion...

well you've got 2 options then - buy Caspy's VXR at 32k or use his prices to screw the price down on the 2nd hand vehicle at Belmont. Forget the lhd stuff - keep the steering wheel where it should be.

£32k is VERY tempting. 2 years newer= a 2 year longer loan to pay for it...or at least that's how I'd justify it to the missus

Belmont's car better be MINT as it's priced accordingly. There's a lovely one on here, silver 54 VXR, with 11k for £21500. Theirs is 22k for £23995. If it's not MINT then I walk.

yeah but really who wants a silver car - its the slowest colour around. So bad in fact they had to call it Quicksilver to try and fool people it was as good as a black car

Which dealer do you use m8?

Another quick question that I might be better to start a thread on, can you use ANY Vaux dealer for servicing. I know only Belmont can do the warranty work, but what about the routine stuff?

just a quickie - on my way out the door but before I forget - Belmont 54 plate with 22k on the clock - sounds like the one they had in Aberdeen which I suspect they bought from a guy in Aboyne that was selling his on Autotrader 2 weeks back or so. It was black, old style 5.7 VXR with 22k on the clock BUT he was looking for a quick sale at 20k - if I'd had time to sort it I was going to go take a look but it vanished off Autotrader a couple of days later. Might be worth asking to see V5 to see if its same one - and knock 4k off their asking price if it is - use it to buy a supercharger and

The silver one is my car, but has a few people interested so might not be around for long, if you are seriously looking them IM me and come take a look...

WF, it is the same black VXR but it's been moved to eBelmont Edinburgh at my request to view it. They claim price isn't negotiable....they're wrong, they just don't know it yet

It was owned by an Aussie that's gone back after working for 2 years over here, hence the quick sale.

To be honest m8, the distance would be impossible, but the price gives me great leverage

There's also one showing on network Q in similar condition and mileage somewhere...erm...down south! My geography fails me at that point!

looked a stunning car and it was well within my range money wise and even though it had 8k more on the clock I was sorely tempted. No way you pay them 24k though - not when it was on for 20k for quick sale - doubt they even gave him that. Good luck with it tomorrow.

Local dealer is just a branch of Reg Vardy but their service manager is good guy - been working on Vauxhall cars since he was a lad and as long as I get him the parts he's more than happy to take on any work on the car at "reasonable" rates. Just wish Vauxhall would make it easier for guys like these to get the parts. He took me over to speak to the sales manager and when I explained your situation he couldn't promise anything but he was willing to give it a go and try get you a car to look at as long as you were a serious buyer. Will see how you get on with the tts at Belmont tomorrow - maybe I'll go over first and beat you to it

No chance, my (refundable) deposit is already on it

Still intend to barter damn hard. They've offered £17k for my 54 plate loaded RX8 which is £3500 more than Subaru offered! But I want that to hit £18k or more. Maybe with 2 yrs extended warranty and Supaguard treatment thrown in for good measure. They're also taking the p1ss on finance rates at 5.99% flat rate. That'll be under 3.5% by the time I'm finished

hell even Arnold Clark gave me 4.5% flat rate on my two cars! If it all works out we'll need to meet up later in the week so I can see what I missed out on

Live in Motherwell, work in west end of Glasgow. Maybe we could get WoodyVT to come along with his puny 5l engine as he's in Livingston iirc Can't remember do you work in Edinburgh and live in Livingston or is it the other way round? Either way we're less than 30 mins apart so shouldn't be too hard to organise something. Could maybe drag bigwheel along as well if he's at home in Dumbartonshire and not working away.

M8, where did you see the VXR? Was it actually in Edinburgh? Because they claim it hasn't arrived which arouses suspicion.... I'm very close to telling them to bugger off at the moment. They seem to have put there most junior salesman in charge of this with a whopping 2 months experience!

saw the original guy selling it in Aboyne on Autotrader then couple of days later same spec car listed again on Autotrader but this time with Belmont in Aberdeen. Haven't seen car in real life but from the photos it looked in excellent nick. Surely it'll arrive during today - I mean its only a 2hr drive down from Aberdeen!
