ok - i've read all the threads etc...
should there be a heat shield as factory spec protecting both the clutch and brake pipes from the heat from the exhaust manifold (headers)?
seams daft if there isnt
the amount of heat is unbelieveable!
quite easy to make one (which i'll do monday i think)
while i'm on the topic of fluids - can you top up the clutch fluid level - ie if i dont know what grade it is will it do harm? I would normally just replace but given that i need a special tool or need the monkeys at the local vauxhall garage i'd prefetr to suffer in the mean time ;-)
