I have an 04 CV8 that I'd like to put a gauge pod into. Anyone know where to get a good aftermarket one from?

This is for VW but is the smartest tripple gauge plate I have found to date as I wanted to do the same as you but have decided on a double din DVD Sat Nav system instead. Available in brushed aluminium or plastic to suit your needs. A bit of DIY may be required but am sure it will look smart.

Failing that try the following. At £270 it's not cheap but v. good. This is the cheapest I have found it if you are interested. Normally £300+.

I also have an oil filter sandwich plate (to allow fitment of sensors) to fit the engine if you are interested? I bought it when I was going to install mine but no longer need it. M20 thread and 4 NPT sensor fitting sites. Cost me £30

Thanks for the reply, I should have been clearer though. I'm after a twin gauge pod like the 05 ones have on top of the dash

Sorry, my mistake. If I'm honest, Ebay is an excellent source for parts and one that I have used many times in the past for rarer items such as this with good results. Unfortunately for you, you missed exactly what you are looking for in an auction from a guy in Aberdeen a few days ago. £20 odd I think inc. gauges too. Keep your eyes peeled. Try JHP in Aus too, they do a lot of gear. Honestly though, I think ebay or an online scrappies are your best bet for a resonable price.

Try JHP.

They also have the fitting instructions in PDF format. Just make sure you get the 04 'HSV' pods as the Carbon look dash surround is different to the 05.

Here's the site map link. you'll need to scan through it to see what you want.

You wouldn't need an interior light!

Did they kill Dale Winton and use him as a car interior?

Slightly off topic but does anybody know if the dash mounted GTS badge on the VT/VX HSVs can be removed without damage? I'd like to put the silver dash etc in but wont if I cant transfer the badge over. It looks like it is designed to break if tampered with. To stop people trying to pass off dressed up commies as HSVs probably.

There are two versions, one for the 2004 (VY series cars) and one for the 2005 (VZ series cars).
The 2005 VZ gauges plug into the dash or BCM and get the information from there, whereas the 2004 VY version has to be routed into the engine bay. That is why there is a large price difference.
I might get shot for mentioning this one, but another place to get them is www.nvu.com.au

Thanks motomk

What I have tracked down is a HSV VY gauge pod via CAPA - A$190. I plan to put AeroForce gauges into it and they pick up feeds from the OBDII connector under the dash. A pair of gauges is US$399
