It only uses a lot of fuel when you put your foot down.....

I can live with that.
Yes, but (hypothesis) parasitic loses surely exist at part throttle too, I guess we would need to look at the adiabatic chart but generally forced induction is even worse outside of its peak efficiency island? With turbo's being around 20% better than superchargers. In fact this book suggests that specific fuel consumption is worse at part throttle than full throttle http://books.google.com/books?id=pkM_NUEL4OcC&...

What boost are you planning on running Oz? 12?

After researching BSFC on NA, Turbo and SC engines, Ive decided that while forced induction will likely give more power Id rather save the 20-30% fuel per BHP that the NA setup will give.
We'll run it on the wastegate springs which we think, but arent certain, are at 7. This should be more than enough to run it in.

as for fuel consumption, cost of fuel was not a significant factor in the cost/benefit analysis for this project laugh

So when are they going to let you out in it...? If only to prove the oil coolers work.. biggrin
Soon...I think. I doubt we're going to know whether the coolers work for a while yet. Weather needs to improve smile

can't believe Roger didnt sell you one of his Pedder's strut braces to replace the stock item, in fact for the money you just spent he should be throwing one in for free Awesome looking bit of kit though and full marks to everyone involved putting it together. That car is going to embarrass much more expensive cars when you put the right pedal down.

Are you running in speed density? Or is that a MAF bit just forward of the throttlebody located in the metal intake pipe?
