I recently averaged 26mpg on a run up to Newcastle. Just pottering around day to day I probably average 14-16mpg.

My 05 CV8 has averaged 23.6mpg between 491 and 23052 miles. This is from records of actual fuel put in. After changing the gearbox, from 23888 to 26783 it has dropped to 22.6. I think this is mostly due to the improved performance being more addictive. On the computer it is roughly the same. My commute is 10 mins traffic, 20 mins motorway.

Hello,

Since my Wortec headers mine has gone down about 1-2 MPG. Still can say I have seen just over 30MPG on a trip down to Monkfish, but week on week is about 17MPG now (used to be about 18-18.5 MPG).

Suspect it is just breathing all that nice fuel in naturally, either that or that noise is still intoxicating !! Although, it gets it's second service at the end of the month so may help.

Cheers
Steven

now I'm interested; I always get over 30 mpg on motorways (at the legal limit!) and if it is a long run on cruise control, then 32/33. For other use, its much like the other posts. Car is a 04 VXR 5.7l, and NO its not a diesel!!

Your trip computer must be shagged!

I've got to say that 1st impressions of this car is that it drives beautifully on wiff of throttle, which to be fare suits my driving style. That said I havent bought it to pussy about in or save fuel but so far the 29/30 mpg i'm getting on motorway driving certainly corresponds to the ammount of fuel im putting in the thing.

I'd also like to say that one big surprise about the Monaro is what a pleasant cruising car this is. Not all hard work and stupid, but big solid comfortable and effortless. Of course you all know this already so i'll stop preaching to the converted.

I only drive 2 miles in traffic to work. From a cold start the best I have seen is 11mpg and the worst 9.5mpg,usually average 13-14 mpg on a tank, would be much better on a decent run(2004 cv8)

I also pay £400/year tax so really you're looking at a 55-plate to pay the lower bracket.

30mpg, are you having a laugh ?! I have an 06 CV8 and on a motorway run the best I ever get is 26mpg. Around town I get about 17mpg and combined (motorway, b-roads & a-roads) is around 20mpg if you take it easy. If you boot it consumption averages about 14mpg. Fuel tank holds about 65 litres which gets me about 250 miles.

You may average 30mpg from a 2 litre petrol but not a 6.0! I also pay £400/year tax so really you're looking at a 55-plate to pay the lower bracket.

Errmm...

I was actually in the car with him on another trip (to Chatham - then back to hampshire).

The mpg guage altered between 29 and 31 mpg, doing a steady 80 (leptons, of course )on the motorway.

I was quite pleased really - considering that I'm picking up my 55 CV8 this Saturday.
