st bum bugger fk

Car left Sydney last weekend, was supposed to leave Adelaide on Wednesday and be here on Monday, giving me a couple of days to get it licenced before Easter.

Poxy train derailment early this week means nothing has moved since. They now say they don't know when the line will open, and can't tell me when the car will get here.

It's arrived! They ended up putting it on a truck in Adelaide due to the huge backlog of rail freight. Picked it up this morning, just washed it, will post some pics later driving

Congratulations mate, she's a beauty. I'm sure you're gonna love it. I find any excuse to take mine out, which is a pain because I'm clocking up the miles.

Well I've had it a couple of weeks now and loving it. It's going to be tough keeping the milage down as I intended, but at least it only gets used on weekends (and some evenings driving Just about to pickup my 16yo daughter from cheerleading, and she wouldn't want me turning up in the van, would she?)
Here's a few pics (no,not of my 16yo daughter rolleyeswink )

looking very nice mate! Any interior pics?

Would I have seen you on Tonkin Highway, Northbound, 4.15 - 4.30pm at all? I saw a car just like this the other day.

I live about 1KM from Tonkin Hway so I do use it a bit, whereabouts was that? What day?
Could this be Perth's first PH "spotted"? hehe

hahahaha could be!!

Actually scratch Tonkin Highway...

It would have been Roe Hwy, heading north, in the dip just before the Tonkin Hwy exit. Ummm not sure on the exact day...would have been a week day though.

Might have been, as I'm about 1Km from the Tonkin/Roe intersection, although I'm trying not to use it during the week...
I did see another one just like mine in the Forrestfield- Lesmurdie area this week though.
Taking it to Wanneroo tomorrow, going to help my mate with his Commodore Saloon car (it's a "tuning day" ). I'll probably do a couple of laps in the Monaro as well driving

I friken hate both of the roads but I dont have much of a choice really (I'm in Redcliffe). Abernethy Rd is pretty average during peak times and takes just as long.

IIRC your not allowed passengers here...otherwise I would have dropped by (pfft its only over an hour to get there rolleyes ) and blagged a spin biggrin

I used to work in Bassendean, 10 minutes on T/H off peak but would sometimes take over 30 to get home. Where else in the world would they have a major Artery like Tonkin Hway, with traffic lights at major intesections? The Roe / Tonkin intercahnge is a joke; hundreds of acres of bush around it and they put 2 sets of lights on the flyover rolleyes

Yeah, no passengers at Tuning days now. Used to be able to, and I used to be an instructor but I let it lapse as I hate being a passenger, on the road let alone the track.

Yep just get settled in to cruising along at 100kmh...and bam...another set of lights!

Leach Hwy is just as bad but thats even slower at 70KMH!!!

Road network stuck in the 1950's me-thinks!

I love being passengered on trackdays...especially when the driver spins biggrin...maybe I'm just weird like that!

Will do Mark, although I may not be going today as the Race car won't be ready.

O/T, John used to be my boss when I first started working (30 years ago! yikes ) and was responsible for me getting involved in the WASCC and starting racing. He also arranged a drive in an ATCC round for me, and introduced me to my best sponsor thumbup
