Well What can I say.
Decided to call the garage today - "LOOKERS" ASTON, (STAR CITY) B'HAM, to get an update. Turns out they haven't even touched it and weren't prepared to either!
They "advised" me to "see how i get on with it" and if any more water leaks in, then they would be happy to have another look at it if i can show them EXACTLY where it is leaking in.....
Yeah right Lookers, pole and barge spring to mind.
VX executive dept called me at about 1800 hrs though to go through my issue. Nice lady nodded and made all the right noises to me, and said VX aren't the type of company to ignore a customer if a manufacturing fault springs up outside the warranty period (good to know). She told me to call her if i got any more grief from Lookers, but also to monitor the leak my self. Got a Case number and her direct dial stored safely away so will be able to claim under warranty even though over the 3 year period.
My plan now is
1. If it leaks, fix it myself.
2. take it to a non VX specialist for MOT and Service, where they know what they are doing and actually CARE.
3.
Rant over, thanks for reading.

PS
Boy have I missed the 'Ro. Never been overtaken so manytimes as i have been today flat out at 50 mph on the motorway!

oh the luxury, I yearn for that. I can't knock the stiz too much, it gets me from A to B cheaply, it has an entertaining driving experience - should the wind change direction so shall you, I like the safety feature that is a centralised speedo that is not angled to the driver so you have to constantly look away from the road to get your speed - especially in 30's. Why? Because the throttle will force an inordinate amount of revs even when off gas which will see you tipping in at 35 to 40 without knowing it.

This is an 08 with 290 miles on the clock. Its not a bad car but I wouldnt drown the mother in law in one for fear of it not getting her to the bottom safely
