Came out this morning to go to work to find this.

No damage appart from the screen, not tried to take anything, litteraly just smashed the screen.

Being self employed means I can't get to work now (bike needs tax and test and impossible to get to where I need to go on public transport frown), got to try and sort a new screen out quickly (easier said than done) as its booked in for a service tommorow as well.

Utter wrs, noticed more damage to cars around the area the past month.
Of course nowt will get done but reported it to the police so they cant say their figures are improving.

I just hope I can find out who it was!!!

Unbelievable. I can't imagine how gutted I would be to come out and find my car like that. I hope you get it sorted soon. What utter tossers. Mine was dented in the first month of ownership. Probably some idiot with a door, or trolley at the supermarket. That is terrible though. Did they damage the bonnet?

The ba&*(^rds are even doing similar up here in Orkney - wing mirrors ripped off, keying etc. Bring back flogging I say!

Can't see any damage to anywhere else, just the screen. So assume it wasn't a brick that they have thrown at it as I would of expected it to have bounced off and damage the bonnet.

Just hope the week gets better. frown

Ah man, pricks... You just want to hunt them down and smash whatever they have, if they have anything.

sickening

We had a someone here who insisted on kicking off wing mirrors of whole rows of cars. Mine suffered three at £250 odd a pop plus door damage. furious

Worst part is you never catch them at it. I had a particular 3/4" torque wrench with that particular 'persons' name on it.

Hope you get it fixed up ok, lucky there's no panel damage.

My friend caught a thieving tt breaking into his car. He managed to catch him throw him on the floor and threating to B*M him senseless if he tried it again.... Safe to say his car has never been touched again. Police do nothing because they can do nothing, powerless really.

We managed to get these pricks and they've recently gone to court.
Two pleaded guilty and had to pay costs and compensation to the owner (slightly more than the total damage caused). One is pleading innocent (bizarre - can't wait to see that defence)...

Try to look on the bright side. I know it's all insurance anyway, but at least it didn't shatter, so you would have had to clean up all the glass from inside the car, and at least a bloody great brick didn't bounce all over the car denting and taking paint off as it went. It could have been a lot worse.

Hopefully you'll get it sorted quickly. My ex had people doing this outside her parents house (kicking off wing mirrors etc). In they end her dad bought an infra red CCTV camera from maplins and installed it inside the house. It was pointing out the window at the top of the front door, out of site. A few weeks later his car got keyed. He watched the tape back and low and behold, some 20 something year old drunk idiot walking with his bird, probably back from the pub, all looking completely normal. As he walked past, he stooped down and keyed the side of the car. His missus looked completely oblivious to it. It was very quick. Not what I expected at all.
Her dad called the police, they took away a copy as there was a pretty good shot of the guy. Not sure if they caught him as I'm no longer with her. I remember how sickening it was to watch. Made me angry and it wasn't even my car.

What is wrong with people!

I personally think the person(s) who did this should be hung - don't mess about, hang them. People like this are oxygen thieves - they do not deserve a place in a civilisation! Or give em a gun, send them to Iraq/Afghanistan to see how hard they are when the thing they attack actually fights back! Makes my blood boil!

Unfortunately I live in an area where I can identify too readily with your issues. I'm about to shell out for the annual damage repair to the car for scratches, dents, dings and knocks from idiots with balls/keys/trolleys passing the the car and either not caring or deliberately damaging something they envy. It's never nice. It could be worse, but if you were to retaliate I'm sure the police WOULD have something to say. They are on the side of the criminals in my experience. They are keen to "judge performance criteria has been met" when they ring to see how THEY performed in the aftermath of a serious random assault. Makes my blood boil, and next time I will meet like with like and b0ll0cks to the consequences.
