The clue's in the header. Always been an Autoglym fan but recently been using Zymol (the relatively cheap one from Halfords) but wondered whether anyone had any other top recommendations.

I'm no expert on this, but I'd also be interested to hear informed answers.

Which paint do you have? (Metallic silver here)

I use harly wax

www.woodsautomotive.co.uk/Harlywax.htm

luv the stuff easy to rub on and off no white powder you can get it on plastic trim and get no residue which is great on a black car
check out Mr Woods Pantera restoration while your on the link, he also sells his wares on ebay in kits of polish+microfiber cloths very resonably priced

Guy who's just done a load of bodywrk on one of my other cars swears by Farecla - he's sending me a couple of bottles to try on the Ro. one takes swirls out, by hand apparently, the second glazes.

Yr better off looking on the detailing forum for this info. And it all depends on the colour your polishing as well! Black - forget it, go for a pro detail and then just wax occasionally, Silver - anything will do!.

Personally I am going to try some Dodo purple juice stuff as its got rave reviews for dark colours.

Swissvax Best of Show nice on black cars, for Summer anyway. For Winter I use Collinite 915.

On silver I use Collinite 476S for Winter and a Zaino combination (Z2, ZFX and Z8) looks great for Summer.

Make sure you have a good finish with the polishing stage before you wax it.

No you didn't - I've had it for nearly 3 years from new.

Had it for sale recently but was let down at the last minute.

I have used 'Jof's - they sell on ebay, dirt cheap for a Carnauba wax.

Looks great - how do you keep the flies at bay around the front? Do you use any specialist cleaner to deal with fly juice?

I think it was someone on here that mentioned about the Zymol/Halfords thing.

I don't do a lot of miles which is mostly why there are no stonechips on the front of the car (22k in 3 years)
I think a good polish & wax also helps a lot.

Megs is better than Autoglym, but I've recently purchased some Einzett stuff which is pretty good, and resonably priced. www.einszett.co.uk/

You can go a bit OTT with all this stuff though, spend a bit of time on www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/index.php and you'll see what I mean!!!
