I avg about 22 back and forth on my daily runs.

Though I was impressed with my run home last time from Worcester to the North east.

Hex, what was significant about the last run? Good MPG or the lack of time in doing it??? confused

I was just happy with the mpg LOL.

Normal run home, 85 Lepton cruise and then thru a few 50 avg speed check areas. Distance about 220 miles.

I don't get it.
Mines the same colour as yours and everthing, but you can get neigh on 30 mpg by nailing it upto 85?!
I can't get 30 mpg now even at 55mph constant!
Think mine was a friday afternoon shift build.......hehe

my completely standard CV8 and my rather heavy right foot whistle gets me aobut 18mpg on average around town and on 30 mile runs. but i have once had it read 26mpg on a nice motorway cruse.... ish. rofl

but on the other hand i have a fun V8 what cares what mpg you get when you can have so much fun. biggrin

Thats where you are going wrong, the car seems more economical at between 80 and 90 unfortunately

And again, at more reasonable velocity I did once average 28.9mpg over 250 miles in my 6L.

Only once mind.

Done about 7000 miles with the new engine, just under 22mpg, that includes dyno days as well as M4 snail work over easter etc. Mixed city and motorway driving. Not bad IMO. The stock vxr8 was around 24mpg.

05 CV8 S/C'd. I've had my average around 8mpg
When I wear the lightweight right foot I have had 28 - 30 mpg on a good m'way run.

dont know whats going on with my vz cv8 but my average is 13.5 and it never seems to change! i only have a remap but its my daily driver and i do most of my driving in milton keynes so lots of stop start driving. I have started to get annoyed at how slow it is feeling so i do tend to give it some probably my heavy right foot!

Yes I agree that at the speeds mentioned it only takes very small throttle openings to maintain that speed so it does seem you're not using much fuel - it's like a nice "sweet spot" for the motor. Unfortunately, thousands of motorway miles in the Ro has proved to me that lower speeds do equal better mpg, it's the beginning and end when you're WOT that makes all the difference, but thats the fun bit!

If anyone can prove to me Jez's suggestion will save me money, I might change my driving style

Could be something to do with SC setups.
Off boost they could suffer as the intake sucks and isnt tuned like the stock composite intake.
Its got a crusty intercooler stuck in the middle and short runners.

On boost volumetric efficiency is better and the intake tuning doesnt matter so much. So perhaps light boost around 80 etc works best for SC's

I made that all up, but you never know smile

On that basis a centrifugal might be better for economy as it retains the stock intake.
