As stated above my LS1 powered car was dynod at 317 RWHP with just the wortec catback and a remap. I understand that I should expect even more from a remap now the headers have been fitted. Am I being optimistic?

I am now going to show my total ignorance for all this rolling road stuff.

My understanding was that the rolling road measured the power and torque at the wheels and the flywheel horsepower and torque was calculated by taking into account the losses from the drivetrain.

Am I wrong?

When mine ran that same exact setup it made 379 at the flywheel on Mark's dyno. Wortec claimed 390 in their literature I think. That's about 300 at the wheels so you are bang on the money I'd say. Headers are worth about 20whp but you'll never notice it.

I thought headers would be worth more than the catback ? opening it up and all that ? How odd confused

It depends on your build. On a standard setup it makes little difference and bigger isn't always better but as numbers rise and you add FI it becomes a restriction. The easiest way to get the best from your motor is to decide on a power level and build a package to achieve it.

You cannot rush these things it seems! It's been nearly a year since my build started which is slightly less than Harry's took. To be fair though he did suffer one engine failure during the build.

Despite the usual ramblings about different results, it still gives an indication of mods v power v drag times. Post up your details and I'll add them on biggrin

Hi Fraser Dug out my Dyno results done on a hot sunny august day last year at vixpy's! 410.8RWHP @6,200rpm and 401 lb/ft @4,000 rpm. The torque figure was within 10% of that from 2300-5800 rpm Still a standard VXR500. I love my car. smokin

Not bad for a non-intercooled car in the middle of summer.

Probably a tune + few small mods, not FI or cam, still very good though!
