I picked mine up Thursday, again thx for sorting it mate.

Unfortunately I ripped some of the actual housing dismantling the old onefrown. Some little plastic bit broke so I'll have to change the lot some day. It actually works fine below 100mph,- it's just knowing the bloody thing is broken....

The standard offside mirror is crap visibility wise. The wide angle gives you the same visibilty as the nearside mirror you should already have on your VXR. It makes a lot of difference. It certainly makes overtaking a lot easier. I would definitely recommend one if you can get one.

Take old one off. Fit new one.

The piece of paper in the box explains it. It doesn't really positively click into place. Test with a gentle pull to make sure it's attached.

Just fitted it on VXR8, found it a little more fiddly than last time with the Monaro.

Tips as follows:

1. The screw driver slot you are looking for (as per instrctionsreadit ) is visable but you are actually aiming for a small hole at the base of the slot you cannot see as readily.

2. My mirror stuck firm (due to excess flashing on the original kept it stuck on the mount at the opposite corner). Hence had to remove motor mechanism as well as a mirror. No big deal as the motor assembly snaps back in on clips as well.

Other than that it was easy enough.

Nick,

Do you have any Monaro mirrors left (or can you get more)?

Lost a megane in the blindspot at the weekend. So I think one of the wide angle ones is a must.

After speaking to Nick by e-mail, I have today ordered 5 VXR8 mirrors (as he didn't have any left) - just to keep the shipping costs down.

I'll post up here an VXRO, when they arrive.

All mirrors are now spoken for. I'll post up if anyone doesn't come through with the funds.

Thanks for the interest, and many thanks to Nick for doing the initial legwork. smile

I have two questions please , and excuse my ignorance ,just want to make sure I dont get the wrong mirror .
1) Does part No #92214580 relate to newgmparts.com ?
2) How do they define sides ie with left hand drive the passenger is on the opposite side , im guessing I order offside ?
Once again bear with me its one of those things that has got into my head . banghead
