Or if you want to go crazy - google yellaterra top mount supercharger for the 304 Holden.

NB despite what was written before...I don't think this is a 308 Holden engine - I think all HSV 5L's are 304's...

I have a 304 in my car (VN) and it runs pretty well with a rated 200kw.

I find that the aussie forums are far more knowledgeable for the older Holden kit. Not many people here seem to know very much about the pre-chevrolet engined Holdens.

street commodores is a mine of information on this engine and a great technical resource.

IMO & others, it's a cracker of an engine and can produce some serious grunt if thats your thing...

Also makes a better burble than the chev stuff if you believe them aussies....

Good man for buying it!

NB your autobox is a GM4L60-E..as used in the Corvette and a plethora of other GM cars.

It's a 1980 lotus eclat S2 with a rover 4.6 v8 fitted. The engine is from V8 developments of lincoln with the cross bolted 10 bolt block mated to big valve 14 bolt heads. Uses an edelbrock performer manifold with the webber/edelbrock 500 4 barrel carb and mallory 'strib and lumenition.

Engine and getrag box are mated together using a modded Rover v8 auto bellhousing. Final drivge is a bit short at 4.1:1 but I'm working on getting a longer final drive and a power lock lsd.

I do love my Holden, but my eclat is my baby...it spins its wheels on throttle response in third....(on rubbish tyres).

here are some pics if you are interested in seeing it:

Me like. Me like.

Even though I've had some nasty experiences with yellow plastic cars (a Dutton and a GTM - don't ask more!), I still would love to own that.

Just a matter of interest, would a LS1 fit too. IF a big engine is good, a bigger engine is urely better wink I often pondered on an Elite with a v8....

yeah...an LS1 fits in there...assuming it's the same size as an LT1 which has been done before:

If you are interested in an elite V8...I have a freind selling one (a 3.5) and its yellow....
And back on topic...

Welcome....the 5L clubby is a great car. A few 5L Holdens have popped up recently. There is an SLR5000 commodore on the classifieds as well just now which is a rarity even in Oz...it's a dealer special model rather than the usual HSV product, but still very nice and sports the HSV 185KW 304 engine...
