They wouldn't entertain me when i swapped from my Impreza to the 'Ro.

I had to go through a few comparison websites and eventually ended up using Admiral.

Does it def say "unable to qoute" ?

Reason I ask is, I'm with A-Plan and this year they sent me a letter saying they were unable to provide a quotation until I spoke to them in person to confirm all my details where correct and that nothing had changed. Just a thought.

It's a simple case of your risk profile not fitting their criteria, it isn't a slight on you..

Just the same as a builder will price themselves out of the job if they don't want to take it on, an insurer/broker will do exactly the same, or alternatively refuse to provide a quote..

Your 10 years NCB is transferable, so hit the phones and try some other insurers/brokers.. Be aware that PL insurance has risen in cost this year though..

I might be completely off the mark here but I've just been renewing the insurance on my oil burner (the 'Ro is up in July) and my best quote was from Direct line of all people beating previous insurer Tesco by over £200 and beating comparison sites by £50.

Of course I have no idea if they will want to touch some growling snarling 400bhp+ beastie but it would worth a go.

More Than are not offering cover on anything in or above (the old) group 18 anymore, due to the claims experienced. Its simple really.

Interesting. We're with more>than, as they were the cheapest, last year. I'll try and remember to update this thread in September. hehe

We're with More Than so it will be interesting when it's due in July as it's a multicar policy. So, will they risk losing the lot??

Admiral just charged me £450 for a 6.2 VRX8 Auto, (I'm pretty aged) with 5 yrs no claims, £50 cheaper than last year with 4yrs no claims. They are always good when you ring them as well.

They don't do multicar policies.

As for "losing them all", More Than are a brand of RSA which is a £multi-billion business (market cap is £4.78bn). As car insurance is a non-profitable part of that business, then I'd suggest they'll offer renewal terms on anything that meets their risk profile, but not be overly concerned if you take your premiums elsewhere (the same applies to all underwirters).

Multicar? Oh yes they do! But not for much longer I suspect.

I'll give you any odds you like that they don't. They will mirror NCD on a second car, but it's still a standalone policy.
