Thought it was........I am not going mad, the seat backs gave it away, nice colour, had aTam in the same formula red!
Looks like these guys are buying up the Sags from the private ads and recommisioning them?
not a bad idea, I would be very wary of parking with thirty odd grand on a car from a private seller, but happy to pay more from a dealer with a warranty safeguard for my hard earned cash, sounds daft when you consider the difference in private and dealer prices, but unless spending £30 to £40k is an everyday occurance for somebody then you will be very cautious parting with your hard earned.Looks like these guys are buying up the Sags from the private ads and recommisioning them?
Shaun,
I think you are looking at £12/13k all in for the 4.5 SS engine upgrade, the chaps above will know for sure though you might need new engine mounts and other little stuff doing which will bump the price up,
Maybe they could tell us what they paid,
and thats for an increase of around 50BHP and 50LB FT over a standard 4S engine, and not forgetting the 5 year warranty.

Similar price to the Racing Green FFF2 + Simplex timing chain + Syvecs ECU upgrade then. Horses for courses. Plus in my view it would add at least £10k to the value of my Sagaris

If my engine went pop today I would defo go for the 4.5 SS, I really like that extra torque they produce and I also thought it was fantastic what Dom did last year with his engine in the racing Sagaris, I have no axe to grind as I have a standard factory 4S engine and I'm not a customer of either TVRPower or RG, it's just the one I would go for.
At the risk of being controversial, I prefer the 21st Century approach of analysing the deficiencies of the engine (Finger Followers, unnecessary mass on timing gear, rubbish ECU) and correcting them with good engineering design and with planned future expansion in the form of Variable Value Timing already in development, than the rather 20th Century approach of boring the engine out by an extra 500cc and waving my willy around. But each to their own and all.
hopefully someone will marry the 2 soon,

To be honest I am sure the FFF2 with Syvecs and the 4.5SS have more than enough power for the Sagaris chassis, (can't believe I am saying this) I think there is "enough" power, any more and I don't think it would be usable. I await a flaming!!
In my experience, chassis is fine and over 550BHP is very usable, in the right circumstances I'm sure it is for willy waving down the pub but in the real world a standard road TVR with 550bhp would be slower and a right nightmare if driven properly than say a 400bhp for 99.9% of drivers,
Young DW who can really drive had trouble getting down around 420BHP with slicks in his upgraded Racing Sag because of the skinny tyres he had to drive with, plus he had massive brakes off a porker le mans racer to help him stop and now they are fitting a 500+BHP ls in it they have to widen the wheel arches so they can fit bigger tyres to deal with the extra power,
Yes the Sag chassis might be ok with 550bhp but the rest of the car isn't up to it unless you are willing to widen the wheel arches and upgrade everything else as well.

I'm sure it's great fun on the German Autos or dragstrip, A friend of mine had a Z06 that ONLY had around 500bhp, it weighed 300kg more than a Sag and was running 325 tyres and it was still a handful on track,
so 550bhp in a Sag running 255/265tyres and driven hard on track, good luck
didn't think this one would be around for long at that price
