It comes down to buying the car you want on the assumption that you can afford it - anything else will just be a compromise.
If I spent the best part of £50k on a Sag then comparing it to the T350 I would have bought a car that in my opinion was better looking than the T350, handled a bit better than a standard T350, might be a bit quicker in a straight line than a standard T350 and was certainly slightly rarer than the T350. The question though is whether these marginal differences are worth a £20-25k premium. For me the answer is obviously not and I am not a T350 apologist. I wouldn't buy a Sag under any circumstances as I can't get on with the looks and I'm not convinced a Sag is actually a better car than my red rose T350. The previous owner of my car told me a story about how he took it to the Ring with a friend who had Sag and round the corners the Sag was marginally quicker but in a straight line it couldn't keep up with the T350 - both cars were factory standard.

Well, funny you should say that but I felt the same way when I went out to buy a T350 (or at least test drive one). I didn't gel with it, didn't feel it was any faster than my Chimaera 500, and was a little downhearted. I was persuaded to drive the Sagaris despite my protestations that I didn't like the styling and fell in love with it, rationalising that when I was inside it it didn't overly matter what it looked like on the outside.
Ironically, I very quickly fell in love with the looks and absolutely love it now.

Anyway, I'm really happy for T350 owners who have cars that are way better than a Sagaris, and faster, and look better, and are better value for money, and are better in every way that a Sagaris. Bravo. Viva la Difference.

Why do you feel the need to compare your car to a Sagaris though? Got something to prove? evil

Standard in the respect that that's how it rolled out of the factory gates but yes not quite a standard factory red rose spec.

You started the comparisons - your comment from earlier:
"so owning a T350 will turn many owners into apologists who try to convince themselves and others that the T350 is 'as good as' a Sagaris. And it isn't"

I'm just not an apologist and neither I suspect are the majority of T350 owners. T350's are great value for what they give you but a Sag costs considerably more yet only give a little extra. As an example rather than a £50k Sag how about a £40k GT-R plus change ?

I totally agree with you.

To be honest, a majority of my comments have been tongue in cheek and, if anything, a mark of a Sagaris owner trying to justify (in his own mind) why he has something so much more expensive when, in all honesty, the T350 really *is* almost as good. smile

Peace hippy

For me personally, its about the styling.. We can argue the internal set-up being very similar and go around that for a few pages but just put a T350 and Sagaris on display together.

Ask Joe public what they think its better, how much more expensive the Sagaris looks - and you`ll find the premium for a Sagaris is justified - at least from my experience.

Except generally Joe Public is an idiot who drives a boring mass produced diesel and thinks they will both break down a lot, so we really shouldn't take too much notice of his opinion.

Dont tar us all with the same brush, I know of a few owners on here who don't need to justify anything as they paid less than the price of a few T350's that are in the classifieds.

And stop bickering you pair, You both drive TVR's. As for a 40k gtr and change or a sagaris. Your joking right? I'd feel then need to prove I had the fastest car in the world if I had a GTR. In a Sagaris I feel the need to prove nothing. The smiles on people's faces when they see it is enough for me bow

Sorry but am I the only person who thought the 350 was for girls?

That is a joke before I get shot down, I like them in the right colour but I definitely prefer both the sag and Tuscan 2 s!

Let's face the uncomfortable truth here. The elephant in the room (not me the metaphorical one)

Both T350 and Sags are for girls and everyone really wishes they had a Typhon. wink

I wasn't bickering - as I said, it was all tongue in cheek and I thought I'd better clarify that in case people thought I was being serious. smile

If I wanted a Typhon, I'd go for a S6 Cerb and a few other cars.... biggrin

Owwww these sort of discussions give me a headache. I've decided the only solution is to get one of each model TVR produced.

Owned 8 over the years, regret selling every one of the 6 that have gone leaving 2 in the stable. Now looking for a SEAC, then a 4.5 Cerb, then..... They are all desirable and unique, the only question is you own personal priority list (oh, the Chim is bottom of my list laugh)

As a unique, rare, British, fast and good looking alternative to a TVR... just wanted to bring your attention to this little known beast.

Appreciating too, just like a Sag smile

If you're 22 and your idea of an antique is a play station one then Marcos won't mean a damn thing to you... but here's Hamster for a quick lesson! And he mentions the Sagaris, woop! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiCB6pP6EEo

Yes, I consider that one earlier this week when first came up. Only problem is no support network for Marcos now. Only 2 companies in the uk I could find and only one small firm with right to make parts. Expensive if it goes bang, very expensive...

I would take the TSO over the Sagaris. I wish I had the cash to buy the one in the advert frown but house renovations take priority at the moment.

I think this is the only car I would sell the Tamora for scratchchin
