LED rear lights and ideas for fronts??

I'm still investigating this but it's a slow job as other stuff has got in the way.

Before I changed it up, I only had the 'bar' as a stop light. Now I have a stop/tail light as well as the bar for stop. I hope that makes sense, and what you asked!

Hi Brummie,
I got the LED's from SVC here: http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/category/led/

There are a few options but I think for the older cars you need to add the 'outer rings'. not sure about dimensions but I think mine are listed at 55mm.

Don and I had these LEDs fitted to our Sags. Slightly different designs though as mine were more advanced.

I'm working on a redesign of the front cluster at the moment, but still not decided on a final design yet as
I'm playing around with two different looks.

The above LEDs or a modded design may be available as a sellable product in the next few months.

Holy thread resurrection!
I’m changing the 10 55mm diameter lights on my Tamora to Led. First hurdle is that I was expecting the existing units to be held in with generous amounts of sikafkex or equivalent sealant. They are in fact held in with big dollops of epoxy. My attempts to break the bond by thumping the lens from outside the car with a suitable persuader - (block of wood) has failed to break the bond and I fear may result in some gel coat cracks if I give it some more….
Any ideas?
My thoughts are to break the existing lens and then use a punch to hit the inside edge of the back of the light where the epoxy is. Other than that, whilst I might be able to chip or chisel some of the epoxy off on the back of the brake light, I can’t see the other lights being quite so accessible.
Am I being a wimp?
Did anyone else who has done the conversion encounter this method of factory fitment? Car is March 2005.
Any help appreciated.

I paid for someone else to do this, but I’d suggest a Dremmel to cut a very thin line and give yourself a fighting chance to not break anything…

To put this old thread back to sleep.
I managed to dremel the three lugs with a cut off wheel and the lights came out easily.
After a little clean up, the new lights fitted after I cut down their lugs slightly to fit.
Epoxy had only been used to fix the higher lights at the back, all the lower ones were held in with sikaflex and were easy to pop out.
The difference in light output is staggering. I’ve wired up four tail lights at the back and two brake lights.
Considering I was already using LED bulbs in the old holders, I can’t imagine how dim the standard bulbs must be.
All ten LED units were £280 from Bowers.
