Does anyone know this car
Discussion
Hi,
New to the forums and the possibility of TVR ownership.
Given the attention this car has had in other threads does anyone know much about it or owned it prior to the current owner.
The mileage seems good but I am concerned it might need engine work given the age of the car and that no rebuild has been done.
Is the rule of thumb that they normally let go after around 35 to 40K

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.
Regards

For me it would be worth a punt if all the original kit comes with it. It's been too "personalised" for my taste. It would be around £600 to get the back end to standard. The price is bang on what it should sell for. Note the turnbuckles have no function except to look "good".
I still have the original exhaust cover and plate so reverting to standard would cost nothing, I also have the leather from the rear shelves and a spare speedo binnacle. Unfortunately the door cards and trans tunnel went to another owner some time ago.On the carbon bits, again unfortunately they were one offs. The moulds for the door cards were damaged/destroyed along with the trans tunnel. It's a real shame as they're a work of art, true autoclaved carbon/kevlar and have to be seen to be appreciated. I'm a slut for carbon fibre.

You can see the quality in the pictures! real shame the moulds are damaged, i would love the trans tunnel in mine!On the carbon bits, again unfortunately they were one offs. Well if it sells maybe the new owner will prefer the leather look and sell these on, they're worth a few quid I can tell you!
I would advise against just one CF part in the car as it looks out of place. That's why I added the glovebox and rear shelves. I also have a spare speedo binnacle with the intention of doing that in carbon/kevlar skin but never found the time.

Hi Mark - a real shame about the moulds, (the Tamora looks fantastic by the way).
I note with interest that your domain is night-spirit. My son is part of a group that is into drifting and they have a tag very similar to yours - just a coincidence.!
Cheers
Steve

I started night-spirit back in the day with a chap called Chris Parry, you might know him . A few of the guys in our 'JDM lifestyle crew' went down the route of dori/drift where I stayed into curcuit/grip and didn't spend nearly enough time keeping up socially. Drift has taken off in the UK since those days and they continue to use the name I believe.

Yes I think I know the little sod It all seems to have sort off drifted away somewhat (no pun intended) which is a shame as I loved the atmosphere in the pit lane. I remember one event at Silverstone - you and Paz where literally smoking the backside off the cars - great! Paz still keeps his hand in but only at Buxton these days. He and his old man have started doing some track days in his Beemer!I started night-spirit back in the day with a chap called Chris Parry, you might know him .
