New Dials cover - Anyone interested
Discussion
Ok, Next week I will be looking into getting a custom dial cover made for my Tamora, While I'm at it I can look into getting some generic ones done. These will be cheaper to do if I can get at least 15 interested. For now I haven't got a cost but here is the generic design (TVR logo will be in the center ). If interested then put your name down. It's in it's infancey so no idea when I will have an accurate template made. Also looking into new needles.
I would definately be interested in something if:
- you could do it with only kph in the left dial
- preferably in white or silver back
- preferably without the L,M,H on the shift lights.

Slightly O/T but connected..
Does anyone know how or where i can get the clear acrylic cover for the dials? Mine is scratched and I want to replace it.
Cheers
Allan
Hi Allan, I just had to replace my LCD display and I had it all apart recently so I can help here. Remove the dash pod (2 x hex bolts under the knobs either side of the display) Remove the 4 connectors and take the pod off. Unscrew the dash from the pod, 5 or 6 hex screws. Then remove the plastic cover, it's only held on by hot glue gun stuff. You can then remove and clean the Perspex. I used a slightly abrasive paint restorative paste and it worked fine to remove lite scratches but you may want to use a plastic polish. You could always cut a new bit and would be an easy job.Does anyone know how or where i can get the clear acrylic cover for the dials? Mine is scratched and I want to replace it.

Hope this helps.
P.S. I also like the dials but then again I like the standard ones also.
Update on this.
I got a crude dial made up but realised the needles don't come off!!!! they have been bonded in place and the only way they will come off is by breaking them. so I have come up with an alternative if you don't want to change the needles. Still waiting for needle samples to arrive. You can have any logo in the middle. costs for this will one be around £25, for the full type with the warning lights hidden until they light up will be about £80 with custom graphics. you can have MPH or KPH as the main graphic.

Material!, the full one that can only be put in place if the needles are taken off is made from a material (around the lights) that is invisible until the back light lights up and then you can see the warning lights. Reason for this is that to get an exact cut out like it is now would be far too difficult to line up. Unless you take away the existing aluminium face which I would suggest you dont.

The company I was dealing with went bust! so I put it on hold, but the guy I was talking to is in talks to set up something on the same lines so just waiting for him to get back to me when he is up and running.
Ouch. Well, I know some companies who should be able to do this if you're interested. How are you doing it? Print onto thin plastic or laminated card?Gassing Station | Tamora, T350 & Sagaris | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
