Before I bought my second Tamora, I was convinced that simply owning it was enough to sate my appetite. I had planned from the start to have a complete interior re-trim, complete with decent ICE and sat nav, and the icing on the cake would be the 4.3 upgrade and Nitrons. This, I thought would make it the perfect Tamora for me.

However, the more I think about the upgrades, the more I want, and it's very difficult to be reasonable with myself once I get an idea in my head.

Not only do I now want the 4.3, but I also want a CR box and new LSD to go with it - then I spotted you could buy carbon propshafts, too! I know I don't 'need' one, but I do 'want' one - not only that, I 'want' the Sag/Tuscan S front brake upgrade - and the ACT carbon airbox for when the engine is upgraded, and possibly the cam cover changed, too - it's never ending!

Anyone else the same, or is it just me....?

I am stone cold sure that if every single item was changed/upgraded, there would still be something else you would want to tinker with....

(ETA - not saying I can afford it all, just more about the mentality of never being 100% happy and wanting more, no matter how much one spends...)

Can't say I am the same Chris, but then funds tend to tether my enthusiasm for such 'wants'. Although if you upgraded every element of the car, your next 'want' maybe to go all retro and get original parts wink
On the plus side, with all these upgrades, it improves the spares that are available for the rest of us.

I truly sympathise. I am convinced it's an illness brought on by excessive forum reading. My car is in having the engine, gearbox and host of additional parts replaced, changed, upgraded or rebuilt. It has been reupholstered and fitted with a very nice DAB radio and speakers. I have a set of new 19" wheels in the garage ready to fit and am now looking at a new set of dampers...the list goes on.....if I was a banker or the CEO of a major Utility with I nice Christmas bonus it would all make sense.

The car has been away for 3 months and I am now thinking of a respray.....and I love the current colour....what is wrong with me. There must be a cure.

As I have always said I like to keep the car standard. Saying that serious work is being done on it right now, I hope to get it back in two / three months.

Now you are throwing yet more temptation in the road. I will get the car back from Warren and want even more doing now......it will never end smile

This is sooo true.
Not only do I do it and spend it tho but then have an itch to change the car and sell it all on to someone else so I can start again !

I think a big part of my, or our 'wants' is derived from reading these damned forums - someone posts about cool stuff he/she has had done and tells us how great it is, I then want it, too!

Go as low as you can, 3.08 I think is where you can get to. What is in it now?

To answer the OP's question...yes, it does end. I was having just this conversation today with the guys at Topcats and I reckon I am now 100% happy - there is nothing I would want to change or modify.

What's all this about C/F propshafts though? hehe

BTW - Ken, you need a 3.07 in there IMO.

I have noticed that wheel is now at a very tempting price here:

But I don't want it.....much....

...Until you find you have a half-Penny sized patch of surface rust on one of the outriggers - which then requires (naturally) a complete chassis replacement.. hehe

I think I'll wait 'till the engine's upgraded. I suppose any money spent on the car after this is small change by comparison.
