There needn't have been anything wrong with it. But with 60k+ miles and a replacement engine 4k miles ago, it would have been hard for RG to sell it with a warranty and the paintwork looked like it needed tarting up. Sounds like they're busy at the moment too so tarting up a low price vehicle is probably not top of their priorities. I hope they get more trade-ins like that, as I could use something similar smile

My best mate has just bought the sub £10k Tam from RG, picked it up this morning - his first TVR, always wanted one, he's dead chuffed with it.

I'll be seeing it this evening.

Hi, I am the one who stumbled across this gem. I have dreamed of owning a TVR for about 10 years.
I went to Racing Green for a nose around on my day off to see what they had, I asked the salesman/manager if he had any Tamora's and he showed me this. He was just about to put it on here for sale. I had a good around it, it needed a bit of work but thought it was a bargain. So called them at 9 the next morning and got it.
I have given it new plates, lots of touching up, ditched the stickers and a clean it is looking good. It needs 4 wheel refurbs, a new bit of leather on the seat, some new rubber exhaust mounts and a few more little things.
I took it on a 100mile round trip today in the heat and it was brilliant I love it.

Thread resurrection time - looking at the cars in the classifieds, both the number for sale (few) and the average price for a decent / standard / original car (whatever that is!)...are they going up in price?

...or is it just because its summer (or meant to be)...

prices to seem to have gone up slightly from when I was looking almost a year ago - although there are a couple of Tams in the classifieds that are still for sale from a year ago - the green TVR MADs and the Eindhoven Tam.

The green Tam looks great from the pictures, wonder why that hasn't sold..

ETA - And looking at the price of that Tam with a T350 nose, it seems that if you don't want the value of your Tam to drop, not matter how great it looks (inside and out), leave the bodywork alone!

TBH, I can't understand WHY anyone would bolt a T350 front on, even if you'd wiped the original off it. It just looks so wrong.
and don't get me going on the "sagamora" either.

Was being diplomatic hehe

For me, the only external mod that would be acceptable would be the old SP front lights, as that retains the headlight cover lenses and doesn't change the shape of the front.

beauty is in the eye.....and all that

when i bought my tam, i liked the back, but less so the front. it would have been easy to put a t350 front on it, but i didnt think the angular lights worked well with the rest of the curvy bits on the tam. so i did nothing

now, the front end has grown on me, and I wouldn't change it

Initially i liked the sagmora, and looked at undertaking a project, but again, had too much on and didnt get around to it, the right project base car never appeared etc,

but now, i kinda like the tam as is, a bit marmite for some, a bit soft for some, but apart from the possibility of a twin front lamp setup, don't think there will be any body mods.

Doh! I wish I knew why it hadn't sold! If I win the lottery, I'll keep it, it's so nice......

I was very tempted to go for that when I was looking - but that would have meant waiting a few more months to save up, and I just couldn't wait! hehe
