To correct you Smarty....
It's Crick where Multipart stored unfinished cars in 2007 and a Senior manager from Multipart told me they sold them on , to recover debts owed.

Very few unfinished cars were customer cars (a few exceptions reported by PH'ers like Funky and Micky, and one of those became the Sag II), most were TVR stock or Demo cars for dealers, I have the customer order spec sheets which prove it.If TVR had got customer orders they might still be in business...that was one problem.
Ciceley did get a number of completed cars and a friend of mine has one. They came without the TVR documentation required for taxing and it took a number of months to get the V5Cs sorted.
So stop spouting , you're just bitter and twisted.... and you had left TVR before the Summer of 2006.

Not often I agree with you Keith but someone else needs to get their facts straight.

With regards to cars at Cicley I'm talking about the cars finished BEFORE the factory closed if you read what I posted properly.

Also with regards to the legal situation regarding liquidations, once a company has gone into liquidation and has been bought from the liquidator/receiver the debts stay with the original company so the new (same in this case) owners no longer have responsibility/liability for that debt. So any stock or WIP that they purchase/acquire as part of the deal is theirs to dispose of as they wish.

Not necessarily a situation that is morally acceptable, depending how you view it, but completely legal.

If the pics are anything to go by, only the front end and engine are for sale.

Not worth the price tag IMO.

I'd have rather had the one Str8Six built that was up for £67k for all of a day tbh. Proven build and not going to depreciate the moment you take it down the road and back. Sure there's a buyer out there for this but a £20k premium over a low mileage original is very steep IMO.

rofl Have you actually read the advert? To save you the trouble, this is what it says... In build- Racing Green Cars are proud to bring to market this Amazing TVR Sagaris. This car was the last Sagaris to roll off the production line in Blackpool prior to the collapse of TVR. Racing Green purchased the rolling chassis and are now in the final stages of production of this stunning vehicle. It is finished in Relfex Purple, the interior.... thats up to you! This vehicle can be finished to your exact specification! We have installed our own FFF Engine so you get the performance and reliability this car should have had.

So if you think my 443bhp 4 litre engine that cost £15k is from this same place. That puts a brand new Sagaris at £61k. Not a bad price if you ask me.

No I didn't, I was making an observation on the lack of pics there are.

I've read it now since you took the trouble to post it here for my convenience, thank you for that BTW.

I still think it's too much of an asking IMO, because you are as good as buying a kit car as far as back up is concerned. If it was kit car money it might be more appealing but as it is, I'd rather get a nice Fezza at that dosh.

I love TVR BTW, if they still made the Griff, I'd be on my third now.

My F430 lasted a year - far worse build quality than the Sag. And slower following the rebuild! smile

To be fair it puts a brand new Sagaris without an engine at £61k, which isn't quite so cheap -sounding to me.

No, that would be £61k for a brand new standard engined Sagaris, which does seem good value. smile

I'm confused here, not trying to get at you, so excuse if I'm being obtuse.

You're saying the engine they have in the car is worth £15k?

So if you take out the engine cost from the asking price, you get £61k

But then, you don't have an engine - so that's £61k for a brand new Sagaris that doesn't have an engine in it, right?

It's all irrelevant anyway, because it's being sold for £76k without the choice of an engine. For a brand new Sagaris that may or may not be a good price, I don't know - I certainly wouldn't pay it but if you weren't so fussed about losing money on it then it's certainly a unique opportunity.

On a side note I'm surprised they painted it but left the interior out - I'd have thought you'd do both or neither.

I think you will find it was painted in 2006...and it will have a 2006 VIN plate .... I think if it were to be sold in the future although it will be first registered in 2014 , it will still be a 2006 car.

Sorry, it's probably me being vague. The FFF engine that will be going in is worth about £15k, if mine is anything to go by (unsure of the spec they are offering). Man-maths would then mean the rest of the car is £61k - at current prices I would say that's a good price for a brand new Sagaris.

As you say, irrelevant musings as the full cost of £76k, but interesting (to me at least), if broken down (poor choice of words). smile

Don as an out of interest is your FFF a complete new engine or your original engine converted, just would have thought that with the figures you hear bandied about for rebuilds being from £6000 to £12000 that a complete new engine would be a lot more.
