Wow, that's quite a bold statement you make in the advert...

"She was however registered as a Cat C many years ago. I have pictures of the crashed car available, Virtually nothing (as usual)."

To be fair it genuinely doesn't take much to write these cars off. The labour on bodywork is so extensive that costs for seemingly small damage can be it for the car with zero chassis damage, TVRs on a CAT C/D can make for a bargain if it was only bodywork.

I'm not sure £22k is a bargain now ... How much was it sold for "many years ago" when it was Cat C ? A lot less than £22k I should imagine and nothing near the £30k insurance valuation smile .

Str8 six are selling for 30plus ?
Ergo 22 is a bargain.
Previous values aren't valid today are they ?
There was only a handful of genuine rr cars as you know.

As somebody who owned a T350 which was run off the road into roadside barriers, I know first hand what it costs to put these things back together. My car escaped being CatD and I would class the damage it sustained as cosmetic across the front corner, bent rear suspension and minor cosmetic to rear corner. Given the value of the OPs car when the classification took place, he would have been mightily unlucky it went CATC if it was minor. I've not seen pictures of his car but he makes a very bold statement for a CATC.

A CATD is "damaged" a CATC is "extensively damaged", that's the difference in the classifications. True, fibreglass takes more man hours, but a C would mean more than just cosmetic, possibly chassis or a very hard impact.

Exactly Tony.
Only from your refusal to accept it have you avoided a similar fate if I remember correctly. It would I'd still been the same car...but the pendulum swung the other way.

Noticed this one disappeared from the classifieds. How did it go - did you have much interest?
