Watching Sag prices steadily rise makes me wish Id bought when I first got the itch a few years ago mad What are peoples thoughts on the number of Sags for sale at the moment? Looks like the market is trying to pull them down to sub £50k... (runs for cover)

here we go, I think by the autumn we will be looking at £60k, mine was £38k 3 1/2 years ago, the last 12 months have seen them increase from mid forties to low to mid fifties, they certainly wont be going down, you only have to look at other classics built in larger numbers to see how prices go up, and the sag was a small volume production car making it more exclusive so long as it is desirable to the would be owners.

I for one hope you are right as I have decided to buy a Sag now (hoping to collect next week-end once reg transfer completed) before they rise any further. Still kicking myself for not getting one when I had the chance a couple of years ago.

I turned down a red sag with black and yellow interior (at the time no one would touch it because of the interior!) about 3.5-4yrs ago for just over 28k!! At the time I couldn't justify the extra outlay over my T350. Oh how I now kick myself! wink

I know how you feel. I turned down Mr Blue, one of the original press cars for the same price. Cracking car and no-one would touch it as it was a press car once upon a time.

OK, thirty one and a half paid. One owner, friends of ours from new. Best thing I ever did with money, well that I can tell 'er in doors about.... Never selling, no way. Priceless memories and friends made. Prices going one way.

I was offered it for £18k, new engine was on crate and needed fitting.

It's special press engine had been taken out,

Colour was bloody awful, needed respray and new interior as well, so wasn't that cheap.

I didn't mind the colour it was straight Formula red. But the interior was hideous. None of it was too costly to change but as I say, although it was cheaper than any other on the market, I couldn't justify the extra outlay over my T350 so bought a 355 Spider instead. They are creeping up now too but nowhere near as much as Sags have.

they have just dropped the rolex blue one by £5k and if you own a sag and go to we buy any cardot com you wont get much at all they offered me £17k for it.they will all be worthless when we run out of oil or they ban them for polluting.people seem to care more about how much they are going up to driving them and having fun.

We are not all miserable sods, just some people are a bit touchy, and think there cars are worth more than they really are, I do think the bubble will bust this year ( here's hoping so I can buy one) as the Jag, Aston, Merc , Porsche are getting to this price range.....

Not surprising really, nearly 60k on clock, no air con and Gaz Golds makes you think it's been run on a budget.

I'm amused by the stated BHP these adverts ... ranging from 324,380,390 and 406 for the same 4 litre engine .Where do people get these figures ???
I suspect many are on sale or return.

the sporadic figures is mostly because the BHP figure was always an estimate. they were regularly all over the place when they rolled out of the factory, usually over the quoted 385.

I had mine rolling roaded at 395 last year and the owner even confessed that it was a very conservative run.

Not sure where the 324 is from though
