i spoke to nitron re the 40 vs 46. body told them what i used the car for, and they steered me away from the 46 suggesting id find the use on the road too harsh.

Just read up about the 46mm comparing to the 40mm NTR, obviously the diameter of the piston is larger and eibach springs have been introduced. This was an interesting read from thr lotus boys who probably have the best handling cars in town !!!!

Not a definitive thumbs up for the Pro 46s though, just one guy who was impressed.

Last Sunday I met up with a few Tuscan boys and we had a little Surrey drive out.

With the Pro 46s fitted and adjusted to a soft, (ha ha) setting we drove the lanes.

At one point at a spirited pace over a particularly bumpy lane the car felt really unsafe as it bounced all over the lane as the dampers couldn't cope, a very dangerous feeling.

By comparison I did Cadwell Park on Wednesday and all was fine because the track is as smooth as a billiard table.

These dampers aren't valved correctly for real world road driving and until they get it right I could never recommend them.

By comparison, my set of GAZ Monos are far, far better and I run practically the same Eibach springs on both.

How would you describe the drive home from Cadwell Park (country road, country A road, A46 single/dual carriageway, A1 or M1, M25) in terms of comfort on the Nitron 46s?

Comfort fine on smooth motorways, it's ordinairy poor roads that are bad to appalling!

At its worst it's dangerous as it crashes and bounces about as the damping is too firm.

Sounds like Nitron have got in wrong with the 46 mm? The standard NTR with 40 mm diameter is the better all rounder!!. Don't waste your money. But l won't by Gaz again as 2 out of my 4 GGP were leaking frown. Just unlucky l guess??

I had two of my GGPs refurbed by Gaz recently. Free of charge, despite the age of the things. I noticed last week that at least one of the four dampers is leaking. Just not sure whether it is a recently refurbished one or not.

up to now no problems on the GGP. had to put them in the chim as 2x nitrons failed. ajuster knob on both had been
without any resistance. had to exchange the springs in the GGP to get them right for the chim but so far so good.
there is a difference between the GGP and the nitrons but it´s not a huge one once set up properly.
