Hi all,

This Tamora is on sale on PH: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

I contacted the owner to ask who had done the conversion on the roof so that the back window now drops flush with the body. The work was however carried out prior to the current owner & there's no info in the car history.
I need a new back window on my tamora & might investigate putting up the same whilst having the work done rolleyes

Does anyone know the car & who has done the work on the hood/roof please?

Thank you!
wink

The advert says who did the conversion work.

Plasicman is aka Dave Hillis who posts on here as 'plasticman' he's likely to have either done the hood work or will know who did.

Apart from a smaller "glass" panel, what else is different about this roof?

Thanks V8 GRF. I understood that Dave/Plasticman had only done the bonnet conversion, not the hood design, but I will ask him for sure.

Pursyluv: the back of the hood is apparently dropping further down on this car. Should give me more clearance to view what's behind me when driving the hood down wink

I had a roof/rear window like this on a Chimaera I had and don't like it. Roof up: it makes the car darker inside; harder to see out of over your shoulder when joining motorways; and the material seemed to show more fold marks/wear, where the plastic screen would have been on the corners(although this is subjective).

Would stick with the original rear screen there Sabatier, the stitching tends to rot over time, similar thing happened on my old T2 Vert, there is a place near Baldock which will restitch it as a temporary measure smile

On the other hand you could borrow my extra high seat cushion to see out the back! wink

Cracking looking Tam you have there thumbup

Any decent trimmer can do it. I had mine done 2 years ago by the Morgan place near Cranfield in Beds. With the Targa re-cover it was about £520. No leaks or any problems like that its so much better when you put it down with no risk of creasing the plastic

Well I don't profess to be the Nr 1 Tam expert (that accolade goes to Shep), but I really don't think this is any different to any other Tam roof, they just drop down to different levels because they do..........I think biggrin

Sort of. The roof will sit a little lower as the screen doesn't kink on the corners where it would otherwise wrap round. Not worth having it done just to get the hood to sit lower, if you don't want it to put creases in the screen then it's well worth it, especially if you need the hood replacing

Ok, so back to my original comment, it is just the smaller window that is different, which happens to also allow the window to sit lower.........I got there eventually hehe

Very nice indeed lick

Here's the seat cushion, about twice the height of a standard cushion (approx 2 inches) hopefully those extra inches will make all the difference wink

Are you coming along to the Brill Festival this coming Sunday? driving will bring it with me burgerbeer

Also being of average* height myself (not my fault that there are more people above average* height than below!); i decided to raise my entire seat (by 40mm) rather than the cushion route. provided you take care when putting the hood up, to avoid clashing with the now taller seat back.

Just above average height for a girl, though Amazon calls me "short stuff"!! rolleyes
The seats will need redoing at some point so I may have to think then & at the risk of hitting my head against the hood biggrin
