I did do a search, but couldn't find anything definitive.

I am thinking of buying this rad:

http://www.aaronradiator.co.uk/products/Radiator_T...

But I am not sure if the rad fixings changed for MK 1 and MK2 Tamoras.

I have a late 2002 MK1. has anyone fitted the linked rad to their Tamora?

I ask because what I don't want to do is think I have saved £100, only to find that an extra £100 worth of labour is required to get it to fit over the more expensive rads.

Cheers smile

Chris I did the self same job about 3 months ago with a T350 rad but there is 2 t350 type rads before people start batting on about a 350 won't fit.... It does.... anyway they're the same fitment as the one you've show in the picky/drawing it's a pretty easy in stall but remember the don't come with fan housings to mount the fans on I cut mine of the damaged radtec unit and stitch welded them on to new rad.

It's a bit of a fiddle getting the rad in and out but it's pretty straight forward but on saying that and knowing your luck I'd get it fitted winkbiggrin

I paid £160 for mine on ebay brand new....it was going Sam North's T350 Ls7 but wasn't up to the job and even better he lived only 3 miles from me!

Oh and mines a MkII I was going to say that shouldn't make a difference but we're talking TVR now!!!

Cheers Buzz. smile

I won't be fitting it, of course!

Am getting as many parts together as possible for when the engine's out having the 4.3 - already have the silicon hoses (black) and SS water pipes. (and new cats..)

I thought that, knowing my luck, I'd buy that £340 rad, only to find that Dom charges me a couple of hours labour because it's not the same as the £400+ rads. Hence the post.

Obviously question really Chris but what's wrong with your current rad? Has Dom asked you to change it?

No - haven't checked the current rad - I just assumed it would be better to completely overhaul the cooling system at the same time the engine is upgraded, so most of the main components in the engine bay are like new, to compliment the engine.

I bought a Tamora rad from Aaron. I was going to fit it to Samy as the front end needs rebuilding and the Tamora one is a lot less than the S one but still has the pipes in the right place.

I have since been advised to another source / model of rad for Samy that is a third the price.

Tamy's rad is leaking and needs replacing so the Aaron rad will go in there.

The Aaron rad is no looker but it looks robust and fit for purpose. Mention pistonheads and get a discount.

If you are going for a new rad Chris, I would also get some high flow fans too. When Zippee had a 4.3 dropped in his T350 I think Dom suggested uprated the fans to help keep the temps down

Cheers. I did in fact order the Aaron rad. (And black silicon hoses my wife bought me for my birthday!) Has anyone got a link for the better fans that fit?

I know that Power sell them for around £120 each, can they be had cheaper?

They are Spall fans I believe, see if you can by them direct.

I think it's just a higher rated fan from SPAL.

The original is VA10-AP50-C-61A-S, the datasheet gives flow rate. The do fans with higher flow rates in the same footprint.

Not sure there are many, if any, SPAL suppliers in the UK though.

Cheers - I think I'll leave the fans, and just have the connectors changed to the waterproof type. I haven't had any issues with overheating before, and with a new rad, silicon and SS hoses and pipes, it should be OK - I hope...

Don't pay the TVR tax for those connectors - eBay for £2.50/pair for the exact same ones!
