We have the cam cover off the Tam and will be using the Viton gasket when it goes back on, is there any torque settings for the cam cover, hoping to have it back on this week...
Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Don't know about the torque settings but you need to make sure the HT leads engage fully on the plugs when you use the RG Viton gasket, they have a habit of popping off the plug. Not wrong with sticking it down the good old fashioned way and saving yourself £50!

The m6 fasteners should be 10 ft/lbs and the m8 15 ft/lbs.

Never heard of the spark plug issue and have run the gasket for some time on two different engines with two different types of spark plug lead.

A useful tip I was given by RG' s engine builder is to use some high temp contact adhesive to locate the gasket on the face of the cam cover. It stops any movement previously I didn't and it would creep out.

The cam cover gasket raises the cam cover several mm which reduces the likelihood of the timing chain striking the cam cover and reducing the need to over tighten the chain. It also means you can remove the cam cover when ever you feel like with out the need to run a bead of sealant around it.
