Not trying to start a debate here, but if I would fill her up with Ultimate 102 the warranty would be void as well. At least this wording leaves no room for this option.
But okay, if you're in for a Powers rebuild, you're obliged to fulfill all requirements if you don't want to void your warranty. If your're not up to that, don't go to Powers. Fair enough.
Just saying...
As above. Just speculating (as I don't have one) but I imagine Dom's warranty is offered by him but under-written by a third party who undoubtedly worded it. So anything that seems "unreasonable" is probably the work of a faceless broker (actually - possibly my brother, thinking about it) not Dom. Insurance only works when you can quantify the risk. Never would I expect Dom to settle warranty claims out of his own pocket - the business could potentially collapse overnight. Dom is a top bloke who often works unreasonable hours to keep us on the road and thanks to him for organising any warranty on his most expensive work for us.

I'll put my supporter's flag away now wink
Higher the octane safer the motor this is covered under Powers Warranty, i personally under-write engine failures out of my own pocket, there are no insurers involved, please take this on board any bolt on goodies that are not Powers proven and tested parts will invalidate engine warranties....

Dom
I stand corrected (and there was a good chance I would be). Thanks for logging in to clarify that Dom. BW

I had my 4.6 RV rebuilt by Dom a couple of years ago,,, told him I'll thrash it on track days,,,, his words were do as many as you like,, if it blows he'll rebuild it again,

You can't get better than that!

I see you have the fastest colour too,,haha,
Goodluck with it all as I know it's both an exciting yet worrysome time,,,

What is it with women,, I mean the Chimeara is the most beautiful Tvr known to man, yet all the women in my life hate it,,,,

I would love to do a couple of track days, that's for sure. I plan to take the Tamora to Italy later this year, when it's run-in. That's something I am very much looking forward to.

Dom
Dom - Thanks for the confirmation and I guess I won't be having any new hoses fitted next week (anyone want to buy a red S6 ACT hose kit?).
Out of interest and purely for my education what part of the warranty covers this point as it's often very hard to read between the small print? I'm well aware of the service schedules, oil and fuel type etc but honestly had no idea about things such as coolant hoses. Presumably this would also apply to, for example, a carbon airbox?
The reason I ask is had this thread not come about I'd quite happily have had those hoses fitted and totally unknowingly voided my warranty in one foul swoop. I would also imagine theres a number of other people running round with 3.6, 4.0, 4.3 & 4.5 rebuilds oblivious to the fact they are now warranty less as it really isn't that obvious, to me at least.

Your right Tony... Suddenly this has become complicated and potentially could be very costly.

Chris do you have a not in your stomach, do you feel like a kid who's seen his Christmas present hidden in the garage 3 wks before the big day,
Even though i wanted mine back ASAP I was happy to let the boys do their stuff,
This thread has reminded me of the fantastic day I collected mine from Dom,

Suck it all in Chris, it's a memory I remember fondly,,
I paid for an engine rebuild, didn't expect re painted rockers covers, heater pipes and a really good clean up of the engine bay etc,,, re chipped etc, some people give Power stick but they have possibly crossed Dom, he's a top bloke but still has a competative instinct and I like that a lot,,

Some bloke walked in off the st needing something g or other, can't remember what but Dom saved the guys bacon and wouldn't charge him, Old school top banana.

You'll love that engine like never before Chris and I for one can't wait to see pics of your stunning car gracing the roads of Italy.
Goodluck mate.

It is exciting, that's for sure, but scary at the same time - I have never spent so much in one go on a car before, much less a 13 year old one! It doesn't make sense - until I look at it and drive it, then it all clicks into place...

I have no doubt Dom's a top bloke, he know's more about these cars than most, and there are very few I would be confident enough to trust for me to spend such a large amount of money.

The hose situation took me completely by surprise, though - that didn't even enter my head that there'd be a problem!

Dom
Cheers for the info, Dom. I was just referring to the text being overrestrictive on this end, where it mustn't be towards the higher "regular" octance petrol. So, no offense.
Keep up the good work! It's not every day you get this kind of warranty.

We may be going to Burghley in April - need to use the Tam a lot more now, especially with the run-in period....
