Oh, that is definitely true. The rebuild improved the engine no end.
...shame you can't do the gearbox so easily...
but that is a story for another day (once I have had the paddleshift system put in)
You beat having some oars in the car , I did spell oars right didn't I ...shame you can't do the gearbox so easily...

Am back - filled the tank up before leaving this morning, and now it's empty again!
Throttle bodies needed adjusting, now all is well, runs sweet as a nut - so much smoother! Dom also softened my Nitrons (something I could have done, but they showed me how) and the ride is now much better, less 'crashy'.
I stopped off at Paul Chance's place in Redditch, and he very kindly put on a new set of 322mm discs and new pads for me. He also took me out in his LS3 Cerbera, what a monster that is!
All in all, a good day!

The engine is very decieving for 'noobs' like me.What do you think about engine now

When driving it back from Dom's yesterday, I was sure it is no faster than the 3.6. However, when I looked at the speed I was doing, that is the real eye-opener. It is the linearity and progressiveness (or in a nutshell, smoothness)of the acceleration that is deceiving. When I thought I was doing 50, I was in fact doing 70, and when I was doing 70…
This is the difference, I was using the car exactly how I always have (up to 3.5k revs), and because I am used to using the car like that, it didn’t feel much quicker. Until you see the actual speed and realise that it is - and the Road Angel's flashing red!
Even for the 'lowly' 4.3, I can see that, once it has loosened up nicely after a few K miles, it’s gonna fly!
I got the brakes from Paul Chance (Fortuna)

That's it, that is exactly what I wanted, none of that revvy shouty engine, that's what I have said to before your not up and down the gearbox getting it going as there is loads of torque and exactly as you say you do not realise how fast your going as its not as noisy until you look at the speedo, wait till its run in and you floor it, just be careful though till you get used to it When driving it back from Dom's yesterday, I was sure it is no faster than the 3.6. There is not much difference between the 4.5 and 4.3 just little more BHP and Torgue, I only went for the 4.5 as I had a bit of profit sharing from the company I work so though sod it your not getting any younger
Same as my discs then, di you get the Carbon Loraine pads, they was great on track but I simply could not live with them on the road too much squeal for me, so much better than the original discs
Cant wait to get her back from body shop as summers coming
Been spending more money on my Griff though engine rebuild that's all run in now, blooming radiator had a small leak so just changed to a nice Ali one, now the blooming steering rack has a small leak.

I went for the Ferodo pads, fast road. They feel fine with no squeaking. Even the 322mm discs are great, I figured that if they were deemed good enough for the Tuscan S and Sag, then they'd be great for the lighter Tam - 330 would have been overkill for me, I think - and I wanted to keep the OEM drilled look..
All I want now is the big bore exhaust...
(and after that, probably something else...)

Big Bore exhaust then Doms MBE

lol - No, that is going too far, I simply cannot justify the £3k for that MBEBig Bore exhaust then Doms MBE
That £3k could get me these three things:
Big Bore exhaust system (highly likely, as this will compliment the new engine, I think)
CR gearbox from Readman Racing (very likely)
Carbon fibre airbox (I want, but find it hard to justify the cost just for engine bay garnish)
If money were no object, then yes, the MBE and those shiney new manifolds - but that's £6k for those two alone!
So, I recon I will have the exhaust and new tyres (40's for the fronts as well as rear), and leave it there for a while.
