Got this today, ready to go on the rear...

(Although knowing me and my track record, I'll probably mess it up...)
Have you got a new badge plinth too? I don't think it will fix securely or look right stuck to the original cast badge

No - I wasn't sure how to fix it. So a new plinth would be the best option?

The sticky pad on the reverse is quite soft and thick, about 2mm deep, I assumed this was to ensure the original raised lettering would 'sink' into the sticky pad?

Don't think so, they sell a plinth designed for the resin badges that is recessed. Only a few quid but requires the old plinth to be removed by removing the 2 nuts accessed via the flap in the boot under where the boot light is.

Ah, OK, do you know where/who sell the special plinth?

You can trim them down to fit. Done it in the past with a grinder

Time's almost here! Take the Tam up to Coventry on Monday. I had better take the car out for a little drive over the WE, haven't used it for a few months!

I've seen the price of them yikes

I may have to get ACT's big bore exhaust system for when the car goes back for its service, though. Couldn't really stretch to buying it with the 4.3...

Hmm, been advised that the Aaron Tamora rad I bought doesn't fit unless a lot of fibreglass is grinded away, and apparantly, the ACT silicon hoses are no good.

I have never seen Power's silicon hoses advertised, I just assumed most used the ACT hoses?

I found there was a lot of excess hose on the ACT hoses that needed trimmimg off to fit - but then again given the variances in each build there has to be some 'float' added to patterned parts.

I hope the Aaron rad fits as I have one to fit.

I'll find out this Saturday if its dry.

Chris - Did they say why the ACT hoses were no good? I have a set due to be fitted to my 4.3 next week as part of my service.

The email I got said that ACT hoses 'kink', so it's advisable to install the Power's version instead! (But I have never seen Power silicon hoses advertised, otherwise I would have got them in the first instance!)

I am a little pissed off with this, as the ACT hoses are not cheap (and the rad wasn't, too, TBH..)

Didn't think I'd have to spend money on yet another hose kit and another rad! What's that, another £800 at least? The parts are expensive enough buying once - but having to buy the same things twice....!

I will ring up tomorrow to confirm.

I was just about to go out the door when I recieved the emails from Dom, so couldn't really do anything earlier...

I was informed that the radiator supplied (Aaron) doesn't fit unless they grind loads of fibreglass away from the chassis area to fit!

Bit of a 'mare - not like I'm asking them to fit stuff I bought off EBay!
