Hi, I have an alternator from tvr parts... does anyone know if this "genuine tvr part" requires the rectifier diode to be fitted or not?
And would it do harm if it happened to not need it and I fitted it anyway (potentially 2 of those in series) ?
I know I should call them but it is Saturday.

Cheers

From my basic electronics knowledge, and having to fit a diode for mine, can't see how it would harm it as the diode can only be fitted (correctly) in one direction

A second diode will cause volt drop, not harmful but not ideal.
Surely the supplier can tell you if a diode is fitted?

Same question here and just opened up another thread on problems. I did put a diode in with the silver light band towards the alternator. Not sure if it needed it or not, and my POD is still not shutting down.
