Hello - New Tamora Owner

Latest Update on my Tamora
Well I thought this thread deserved an update after 6+ months.
So far the following has been completed...........
T66 TVR Reg fitted
New 3.6L Engine fitted by STR8SIX inc Crank etc, (only thing we saved was the block!) (100,000mile Warranty)
Engine Mounts
Speed Sensor
Blue ACT Hoses
Chrome water pipes
Blue powder coated head cover
Nitron's fitted
Diff Bushes replaced
Wishbones painted and new Bushes fitted
ARB Drop links replaced
Power Steering Motor replaced
Brakes 304mm (waiting to be fitted)
New Battery fitted
Pedal Box moved forwards
Headlights replaced to RHD
Fog and reversing lights swapped
Side Windows adjusted
Gearbox Fully Rebuilt (3rd/4th Synchro)
Centre Console replaced with a black leather one.
Turns out the car was already de-catted, but passed the MOT!!!
Shes still being run in and a few hundred miles to go before I can open the taps.
I knew she would need some TLC and potentially an engine rebuild, some of which was built into the purchase price. Overall I am happy that I now have a cracking motor which certainly is rare and hopefully will start to rise in value with time. Although I am not looking to sell anytime soon
Looking forward to getting out and about in 2016 a bit more than I did in 2015, as shes been off the road so much of this year.
Cheers,
Jon

You have a good looking car there but I would say that as it's almost identical to mine
I'm thinking of getting mine decatted is it worth it ? I don't want more power as I think its powerful enough I just pops and bangs
Hi, it's very loud artillery fire with the occasional Morter round when you least expect it and that's only using 3000rpm. It's had a power exhaust fitted which helps with the noise. Out of interest when was yours registered? Mine was the TMS demonstrator so quite an early one registered 13/11/01. I guess yours was earlier?I'm thinking of getting mine decatted is it worth it ? Would be good to get them together at meet, next year some time. Are you on FB?
Mine is an 02 don't no what month off hand but it was the press car that was used for some TV programs and in TVR literature leaflets
It has got a blue flame exhaust on but I was out with a sagaris the other week and it had more pops and bangs
I'm not on fb but I can use my wife's what is your ref for fb

Very nice car, looks like you have spent quite a bit on it so far. I am also new to the Tam, bought mine back in June this year, had a new rad and hoses plus tyres all round but other than that is runs OK for now. Love the colour BTW. I am also looking forward to getting mine on the road in anger when spring arrives..

I very very nearly bought this Tam back in 2014. I flew over to Holland to meet Corno and some of his local TVR crew. I decided against as there was a little too much work for me.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I am pleased you didn't buy it, as I love it and had been searching for a yellow one or 2 years.a1butch said:
It was definitely a tough call for me. At the time (and it seems now a never ending story) I didn't have the time or resources needed to put into the car.
Looks great though, when you decide to sell let me know!
Hi, yes its needed a lot to get it up to scratch, nearly there! Its a keeper next to the Chimaera which I've had 14 years already.Looks great though, when you decide to sell let me know!
Cheers,
Jon

I've got a set of polished TVR Power cans wrapped up in the loft for a Tam. If you're anywhere near the Cotswolds, you're welcome to try the sound.....It has got a blue flame exhaust on but I was out with a sagaris the other week and it had more pops and bangs
