Paint Protection Film
Discussion
Hi all
My Tamora is currently in for a full colour change. I'm looking to the above to protect that. Amy recommendations I'm not sure who's system was on the car but it covered the font end, back of the front arch the front of the rear wheel arch, wing mirrors and the top of the rear spoiler.
I'd prefer some one in the north and an idea on cost...any help as always is helpful
Thanks

Paintshield did mine in peterborough, miles better than what was on there pre-respray, much harder to spot the edge of the film & a better finish too (its laser cut from a single sheet. They do lots of exotica so no problem in trusting the car to them, They had cars in that cost 10 times what my car is worth having wraps costing more than my car is worth!!. I had the nose cone, full sills + two small custom pieces on the rear arches. £720 from memory with 5% discount for TVRCC membership. Didn't bother with the wing mirrors (it looked cack as its not full mirror) or the spoiler/diffuser as they didn't have any chips on them and the car was 11 years old. If I were to do it again after a re-spray I would go for a custom full front clam shell (not inc the bonnet) as you guessed it the only chips I have are above the bloody film. I guess there is an argument to save the £700 quid and put it towards your next re-spray maybe?

I had my T350 done by Paintshield in Peterborough. Did it while I waited and no problems. But I would also suggest contacting AutoFX as they subsequently did my F-Type after Paintshield failed to reply twice to my request for a pricing. I also never managed to get a reply from Armourfend either. Based on customer service including replying to quotation requests I would go back to AutoFX first. They also seemed more reasonable on price - got loads done on my F-Type compared to the TVR for similar money.

Armourfend on mine and and although you can some bits on the mirrors, I can't fault it. It's been on the car since 2003/4 and still sound
Only issue I have had is that I cannot get it as shiny as I would have liked, not sure if that the film or not though and I mean a deep high shine. Don't get me wrong it is bloody shiny still

If you don't drive your car much, or do clean it effectively it should retain a reasonable shine. If you don't and you have a paint correction or a good machine polish, it will stick out a mile as there's not much you can do to armourfend. Pros and cons of it. My Sag had it on, I'm removing it, you can see swirl marks on it and it doesn't stop stone chips. Once the paint has been corrected the armourfend will stick out. Take it off paint correct the whole car, job done respray front end every 3 years or so.Only issue I have had is that I cannot get it as shiny as I would have liked, not sure if that the film or not though and I mean a deep high shine. The car previously had it according to the receipts and on since 2005. I took it off back in March when stripping the car and the paint underneath was very good with very few stone chips. Not bad for 10 years. Everyone experiences different things with this product for me it works I don't fancy having the front repainted. Every couple of years. My car is not a garage queen and I do around 4-7k mikes per annum so it makes sense to me
