Afternoon all. Does anyone know much about the T350 that's in MADS at the moment ? Seems to have a decent enough history and some of the right bits done already but I see it's been for sale for a while. Only found one post about it after trawling the net where someone said their 'friend' had been to see it and didn't like it, but no mention of why.

I'm up North this weekend so it is possible I could get over to view, but it's a 2.5 hr round trip from where I'll be, so anything I can find out up front would be really helpful to decide if it's worth the trip over.

Cheers,

Mike

I guess the questions you need to ask is when (how long ago) was the engine upgrade done and is there any warranty left with TVR Power? I would also be asking more specifics of the service history (i.e which dealership/specialists has done all the services particularly since the upgrade).

Other than that with prices seemingly going up currently it seems very reasonably priced considering the upgrade and nitrons. Perhaps phone Powers and see if they can give you anymore information on the upgrade?

I know it is parked on a kerb but it looks like the front tyre could do with some air also!

Not sure of TVR Mads reputation, or what warranty they offer on the sale of their vehicles. You don't want a crappy 'off the shelf' warranty with a TVR!

Oh ignore me, just seen the picture with all the info! But guessing it is out of warranty with TVR power as engine upgraded in 2009.

Yeah out of warranty last year by the looks of things. Does somebody know something we don't ? Or were they just nervous owning one with no warranty back up on the motor ?

Heard good things about MADS from what I can read, but no experience of them personally.

In my mind a TVR Powers rebuilt engine out of warranty is still a better bet than a non rebuilt one (less of a lottery ...). Especially at the very reasonable price. So long as it has been maintained by specialists since with proper 6-12k services etc. In this case it looks like it has.

If you like the colour and interior it has to be worth a look. Looking for a good TVR will always mean a bit of travelling to find the best/right one!

Looks like this link might relate to it:

Nothing too worrying there if that is the car...

Does look like it yes thanks, sadly I can't seem to find any way of contacting stainless_steve to get an opinion on it

There's another car in Cardiff @ Williams but that appears to say sold on the website even though it's still listed

I may ring MADS this morning to chat to them and get a feel for it over the phone

You could also contact the previous owner on that thread. Can you not contact SS through his profile?

Either way MADS has a good reputation. (I haven't bought from him but nearly did once.) He's been around for quite a while and is very approachable.

Good luck!

No e-mail link to contact SS no. Does look like it's had good money spent on it over the years, just a puzzle what Stainless found that he didn't like. Would love to know before I spend half a day out looking at it - I've not really got the time to waste this weekend but it's the closest geographically I will be to the car for a while unless I take time off work (difficult at the moment, like most of you guys - we have to work to pay for the toys! haha)

I don't know anything about the car but James at TVR MADS is a really straight guy and one of the long-standing TVR 'Dealers' having worked closely with TVR during the Peter Wheeler days selling cars to export.

(MADS stands for Military And Diplomatic Sales.)

He gets all of his pre-sales preparation, servicing and rectification work done by Paul and Heath at X-Works who as most folk know were the factory service department and what they don't know about TVRs isn't really worth knowing.

Hope that's of help?

Well I've done as much homework as possible without going all 'super sleuth' so all that's left is to go and see it in the morning

Let's see what it's like in the flesh

Good luck Mike, doesn't look like there are any horror stories on the forum that should necessarily scare you off. When it comes to these cars it can be something as the colour or interior options that put people off. But one persons favourate colour combo is not someone elses!

Look forward to hearing what you think of the car! It is a good price for a 4.3 conversion, no doubt about it!

Hi Mike,

I bought my Cerb from James last year. As said before, he's an approachable gentleman type who only outsources work to well known specialists.
My Cerb had a rebuild from str8six, restored by Central and serviced prior by x works.
James advised to speak to Heath, Adrian etc..prior to travelling from Devon if I had any concerns.
Car was fantastic and would buy from him again.

Good luck

Jonathan

Well I've been and seen 😊. Not 100% what I'm looking for, and although James was a nice helpful guy today's car won't be the one for me. While I have seen much worse condition wise, I just didn't think it was good enough for me for the money.

I'd love to hear your thoughts stainless, send me a PM if you can ?

On another note, we went to view another car on the way home . . . . . . and my Mrs bought herself a C4S ! Haha. Not the way I saw the day panning out, but good fun none the less.

I'm no further on though lol, so the search for a T350/Tam continues
