Hello All,

The car has just come back from Neil Garner (6k service) and is running sweetly however today I 've washed the car and taken it for a quick spin. It seems I have developed an issue with the immobiliser and / or ECU (?). i.e. If I unlock the car and wait for the immobiliser to kick back in, then insert the immobiliser fob for 5 seconds 9 times out of 10 my immobiliser does not disengage (or atleast the car will not even attempt to turn over). If however I insert the immobiliser fob for 5 seconds, then open / close the drivers door and then turn the key - it fires up straight away

Given that I'm off to Le Mans in just over 2 weeks, I am worried I have an impending immobiliser or ECU issue. I'm going to call Neil Garner but thought I would reach out the community to begin with just to find out other experiences.

Thanks in advance to all (as usual)

Antony

Have a chat with Dave from HF Solutions. Can probably help over the phone and suggest possible reasons.

How about turning the ignition on and pushing the alarm button on the key to disarm the immobiliser? It could be the alarm control unit has got wet if you have a bit of a leak as water can collect where its located.

Yes but the car had not been wet - it was in the non-damp / no humidity garage for a week before I tried starting it on Monday!

You read correctly, I did wash it but the problem was there before I washed it!!!

Cheers for the thoughts / comments. I'm sure the issue will reappear again at some point!
