Considering a Sagaris -any info on these cars please?
Discussion
How good is the paint, has the paint shield been properly applied, does the powder coating show signs of breakdown and has chassis corrosion started. How does the interior look, has it seem water ingress. Does it drive as new, iis the engine rattle and smoke free with good compression, is the service history appropriate for miles, does it need nothing spending on it?
If no negatives in the above, it's probably worth mid 50s. If it had a three year warranty, and full service before sale, close to 60k.
If all or many of the the above have negative answers, it's high 30s, low 40s - it's a project..
All IMO of course, and please note, if the car is in exceptional condition, which I don't believe I described above, the right man may pay a little more than the mid 50s to 60k.

Off topic, but when at David Geralds last week, there was a very poorly Sagaris in there that had the engine 'butchered' by a garage who knew nothing about changing the clutch on S6 cars - for the sake of saving £300, the garage caused around £6k's worth of damage, apparently!
A very sad sight for such a wonderful car.

For the record the Sag in discussion was my old car.. And it was a cracker as a few on here will testify.. I owned it from 2007 until late 2009.. I sold it (with a tear in my eye) to a nice chap over in Leeds a fellow pistonheader who was even more obsessive about it than me, (and that is saying something) When I last saw the car at Chatsworth in 2011 it was pretty much mint inside and out, Sadly it was then sold again as the new owner was moving house and no longer had a garage, I no longer saw or heard about if from then until now and presumed it had gone to foreign shores, I have some tremendous memories of that car it was truly and utterly sensational, somebody is gonna be a very happy bunny with that car.
Runs to piggy bank.

Think you are well off the mark, when I was looking cat d cars that needed work were fetching low 40s, you have no chance of even buying a knackered one for less than 40, str8six sell mint low mileage cars for 65 all day before they can even get them in the showroom.Edited by TVRMs on Wednesday 29th July 18:55
Please take the time to read my post, don't selectively quote me and note the bit where I said all IMO.
I don't think I am way off the mark, and I think your statement supports mine
How many Sags do you know that the Indy you quote have sold for 65k, should be easy for you given they do it all day? and for clarity, I did say how many have they sold for that.
Edited to be less sarcastic and more constructive.

From the pictures in the ad and presuming they are all recent, not just the normal "on the kerb in front of the wall" that TVR Mads always do, I would say there aren't any obvious negatives. Therefore (and sadly for me) it is a £50k+ car all day. My wife has always wanted a Nissan GTR in that dark gray - I haven't seen a Sag in that colour so this would be perhaps the one I would swap my T350 for! Difficult to smell an interior, hear an engine or tell how a car drives from photos, none of which show underside? .
The interior will smell of glue, the engine could go pop 2 weeks later even if it sounds fine and I suspect the 3 chassis pictures represent the underside. I have nothing to do with this car and welcome efforts to devalue it as it is one I am sorely tempted by. However, I am saddened by PH debates where people covertly/overtly undermine a particular car without knowing about it. Lets face it, apart from cars you have owned from new, most of us don't truly know everything about their lives....slimtater said:

(No inference at all that the car James has belongs in that value band)
Drive train (engine) in need of work, paint, trim and a body off to correctly address the chassis degradation and then rebuilding suspension while body off. That's what I call a project. Would I buy one like that? Not if I could afford a pristine cherished example.
You're right, no one died, and no ones wallet was hurt

It certainly didn't smell of glue when I last sat in it at Chatsworth in 2011, It smelt of gorgeous full leather just like it did when I owned it, The engine was also strong as an ox and didn't use any oil between services.. It appears to have only done around 3-4k miles since I owned it.. I would be all over it if I had the money, You quite often see a little bit of scaremongering on here when a couple of people are interested and want to 'play the car down a little', On the other hand it may have been track day used for the past 4 years solid with no road use, who knows?.

I know of cars that have changed hands for low 40s earlier (Jan/Feb) this year -yes. Remember that the cars at dealers for low 50s would have traded at mid 40s best.
Maybe you could answer my question from the posts above. How many have sold (not advertised) at £65K from the dealer you quoted.
By the way, I'm not a car club member, nor do I make a living from buying and selling TVRs, enough have been through my hands for me to be poorer than I should be though.

I know of 2 cars they have sold recently, one for £67,000 and one for £65,000, they also sell very quickly and that makes me think they could have got more for them and prices will continue to raise, limited number will only keep prices heading north IMO I know of cars that have changed hands for low 40s earlier (Jan/Feb) this year -yes. As for high 30 cars not for years unless you know something I don't which is quite possible.
When I was buying good private ones were high 40s low 50s if you were lucky enough to get one.
