Possible event idea for Tam, T350 and Sag owners next year..
Discussion
Hi Guys, Gals (and Tamora owners ),
I would like to float an idea for next year...
The TVRCC currently runs a Chimfest, a GriffGrowl and a Wedge Fest plus a few others, but
nothing for the later cars T cars - Sags, Tams & T350s.
If I approached the club to look at arranging such an event next year - a weekend do at some
hotel or something similar with...
I would need enough people to make it happen - e.g. 60+
Just an idea at the moment to see interest...
Primarily club members, but it might be open to non-members as well (not sure the policy on that,
would need to check)...
Anyway - interested or not? Worth looking at or not?
Thoughts, hate mail, comments, ideas?

- Maybe some trade people
- A run-out
- Museum event (or whatever else I can think off)

Loads of interest and useful suggestions on relevant FB groups, so will investigate agenda.
We have an offered venue at TopCats (Aylesbury) and some suggested contacts for possible
track-day element, so I will follow up on these when back in the UK in a week or so.
Btw - Happy to have other TVR models come along, but would be primarily for T-cars.

Locations for these types of events are always a major factor for everyone who wants to go.
However, as this is the first of this type of event, I will need to do some on site travelling
to get it organised and see what people have to offer, so I need to keep it reasonably local to
me.
If it is a success and I am able to get more people to help, then happy to look at more northerly
locations, but organisational logistics are my biggest concern at the moment to see what can
and cannot be done.
I can't take the time to do many 4-5 hour one way trips "up-north" to look at facilities, hotels
etc. I'm afraid.

Hi Alex. Correction, for information. The TVRCC do not run the Wedge Fest. Refer to the Wedges forum for further information. The TVRCC currently runs a Chimfest, a GriffGrowl and a Wedge Fest plus a few others, but

Hi folks
Okay, after some digging around and speaking with people here is a draft proposal.
I'll fill in bits based on feedback. Obviously, to make this a viable event, we'll need
to have a decent turnout, so for the moment I am assuming a good number of people
will want to come and take part. If not, I will cancel as it will not be worth doing.
This event is intended to be a weekend event based on a similar style to previous
BBWF and GGs. It is intended to be open to all TVRs (although focusing on SP6 and
T-cars).
Also open to club and non-club members (plus those who never have their TVRs available!)
The venue for the event will be Wroxhall Abbey Estate.
The address of the estate is...
Wroxall Abbey Hotel & Estate,
Birmingham Road,
Wroxall,
Warwickshire, CV35 7NB
It is a very nice location, not too pricy, but not bargain basement either. I did not want
to look at cheap, cheap places because they are generally rubbish.
The cost would be dependent on numbers of people. I have had to assume a certain
number of people wanting to stay 20-30 - if more, great, may make things cheaper.
Package details would be...
The following dates would be potentially available, but would need confirming "soonish".
The activities are an idea at the moment, but would be the following...
Friday
Folks arrive, get themselves settled in and chill out until early evening.
In the evening we have a BBQ (included in the price).
Saturday
Still thinking about this, but ideas include...
of occasion, dance, auction something like that.
Sunday
People leave after breakfast OR we go somewhere, then leave.
I know BBWF usually have a charity that benefits from the event - auction + teeshirts etc.
I have no issue about doing something similar - maybe money for Sporting Bears - some
similar charity - suggestions?
The event will have to be self-financing or at least cover its costs. I do not intend to cover
the costs! Deposits - yes, event costs - no.
I'll welcome any thoughts on that.
I need comments, thoughts, suggestions, feedback!
Thanks!

You need to get your Sag finished. Worrying about organising a party
Venue seems fine. There will always be someone for whom it is 'too far'.
I'm up for a meet in principle - dates maybe an issue but won't know until next year.
Prices - not fallen off my chair so fine with me.
I like the idea of options to stay or drive out. A route plan would be useful to allow people to take their own pace. On the S Club Tour, Ian provides sat-nav files. On the Wedge Meet in Germany they provided pacenotes - which I though was great but you do need a passenger!
How about a trackday on the Monday? There will be one available no doubt. Will Top Cats not allow us on the 'test circuit'?

Dates will always be an issue with anything.
Too much notice and people do not know what they are doing then, too little
and all the venues are booked and not enough time to plan the other activities
I've opted to give people enough time to put the date down, commit to it and
then workaround that commitment if they have anything else "come along".
Essentially, we need enough people to make it work. If people say they cannot
commit to a date until near the time, then it will not happen as the venue(s)
will be booked and planning time is not enough.
As I would also need to put a deposit down to secure the event, I need to ensure
enough have committed to a date to ensure I do not forfeit it.
The joys of life...
