Dropped my Tam off today for final upgrade..

OK, that new gaiter wasn't really worth the £50 it cost me, but have used it anyway.

Here is the original:

I had to cut some of the bottom off as it was massive. I had to Sikaflex it in place, hopefully, it won't have to come off again.

I think a lot of the problem with the heat coming up from the gearbox was the fact that both the upper leather gaiter and the lower rubber boot were not stuck back down after removing/refitting my gearbox. No heat from the gear lever at all now.

If there's one thing I've learned since buying this Tamora, it's that no matter how much you pay the specialists to work on the car, you always have something to repair/fix when you get it back!

Yes, it took ages to remove all of the excess Sikaflex from around the gaiter area! I removed the old one altogether and replaced it with the new one, but had little choice but to Sikalfex it in place again (I did try double sided sticky neoprene rubber first, as that would have been neater, but it just wasn't sticking), to ensure a perfect seal around the gear lever hole in the tunnel.

No cable ties, there's a small slit in the top of the new gaiter, I just pushed it over the top of the gearstick and stuck the 'skirt' to the tunnel.
