I might be changing the ECU in my T350. Standard 3.6 engine, standard exhaust system I think.
Is it worth replacing with a standard unit or is it worth upgrading to one say from Powers?

Was is the main difference with the newer developed ones and are they worth the extra ££?

Thanks

What are you hoping to achieve? Don't think you will get any massive BHP gains all else being equal? From what I gather most might consider if if rebuilding/upgrading to 4.3/4.5L options. Think it is expensive to do so doing it to a standard engine doesn't seem a popular upgrade from what I have seen. Think some people get a different 'chip' or get a remap if they go for decats, bigger bore exhaust and/or upgraded airbox or any combination of these....

Not expecting any gains etc, there may be a fault with mine so if it does need replacing was just wondering if there was any difference. More then happy with a standard one.
Best place to purchase one from?

Might be worth talking to Matt (M4tti) on the tuscan/speedsix forum who has done a svecs and fff head on his own. Reliability and drivability are the main advantages, the original MBE is quite antiquated with batch injection, no idle control and some reliability issues. Have a chat with him he is a great guy and will tell you what he has done.

I would definitely seek advice from an expert in the matter. I don't know the setup but looking at the various ecu parts there are different parts to the ECU, some cheap to renew and some very much not so cheap!
