Chris I guess that's a pic of an early one they sent you and not your actual one? For £1000+ I wouldn't want to have those poor moulding marks on show.

That's how it came - I haven't seen any others up close to compare.

It comes as raw carbon, which can be rubbed down and lacquered.

I'll summarise the benefits...

1. Better Fit of air filter and also on throttle bodies.
2. Looks pretty when you lift the bonnet
Fixed that for you

No idea but it comes finished. According to his email this morning his new website is due for launch begining of January and the full 'list' of CF products advertised.

P&P is a bit steep - but I am assuming the bulk of that is insurance and packing. Will probably order mine early in Jan when I'm back in the UK. Happy to group an order together for us 'SE London' guys.

As it is called "performance" airbox - has anybody done a test with it?

What's the advantage - compared to the standard one?

AM having mine fitted and remapped in January, I should know then. I do know that there is a problem if you have air con (which I don't), the box doesn't fit, apparently.

Don't think so. Without an exact before / after dyno and NOT doing any other things meanwhile, you will never know if there are performance benefits

I am assuming there will be a before and after, as mine isn't fitted yet - I am not getting it fitted until I take it over to Powers.

I think there may be some product cross over here. Chris, are you fitting ACT's airbox? The photo above is of Brendan's (Concept Performance)?

Yes - I started this thread regarding the new ACT air box and no others, I have only ever talked about this box, not Brendan's. I do not have that box - it is others who bring up the non-ACT box.

If there's any product cross over, it isn't from me - my thread title clearly states 'New 'performance' CF airbox from ACT?'

CliveF was involved in the prototyping of the Concept Performance airbox a few years back iirc.
He hand built a stainless steel air box with the front intake to supplement the bottom intake, did the metal work on the throttle bodies to make a smooth transition from the silicone hoses into the bodies, even thinned the throttle spindle/butterfly to smooth the air flow even further.

He also put in high lift cams, new uprated injectors and made a completely new exhaust system, before having it all remapped at Jools' place. There a thread in this area with BHP improvements that documents the improvements he got - it was a standard Sag before and I think he got it to over 400BHP.

To measure each individual improvement would probably have doubled the overall cost as a full re-map after every change would probably cost £500 and he would have had to do about 10 full remaps, so it;s a simply before and after with all changes.
