I owned the Silver Sagaris PN05 OUK (I was told it was car number 7 of the line, can't recall who said it but it was via PistonHeads)..

Standing on the side line here, but just wanted to say... threads like these make for such fantastic evening reading. Reminds me of the website made by the current/previous Typhon owners (search for 'the hedge group')... just fascinating.

I don't know of any other low-volume car brand that carries such mythology and where the cars are so respected and almost personified.

A book must be written one day. @tvrtuscans!?

Right...

Looks like we're getting a little further and I might have to change the tone of my write up for the car. Thanks to Kevin KmPowell for the extra info.

From what Kevin tells me the car was used as a demo car by TVR in the very early period and then it was sent down to London TVR as their demo car. (I think I've attached a pic...)

The car was Pdi'ed on the 3rd March, Registered 30th March, and had its first service at 1840 odd miles in mid April. The next service was done by London TVR at 6000 or so miles.

So what Kevin is saying is making sense. What it was doing in the period between Pdi and first service and the 1840 miles is unknown unless someone at the factory remembers the car. I have seen press type shots of a similar car, when you search on Google images for Sagaris, but I've no idea if that's the same car as of course no reg number shown on the front facing shots.

If anyone else can remember the car it would be good to know, in the meantime I'll remove the press car tag. Sorry chaps, I didn't mean to mislead anyone. The car is still very nice of course!

Ed

Thanks very much. It means a lot when people say that. I hope it stands out from the crowd a little.

I spend a long time trying to make it look clean and simple. I can't stand websites with banners, flashing images and adverts trying to sell you stuff you don't want... and have lo-res crappy photos of what you do want to buy!

We sell a lot of cars and bikes to people who quite often don't come and view the vehicles in the flesh. I think that's on the basis of the images we put on and the testimonials We've even sold as far away as Australia on two occasions.

Cheers,

Ed

Hi Ed

Glad I could help. smile

As for what happened between registration and it going to London TVR. As mentioned in my email, OUO was originally supplied by the factory as one of the small batch of 'Demo' cars sent to dealers hence the March '05 registration date. It didn't however appear at the factory launch, instead OUO was moved around from dealer to dealer, only moving on once the factory order demo car had arrived. In October 2005 it was moved to the new Kings Cross dealer called 'London TVR' (not to be confused with TVR London) and was used as their demo there before being moved on and sold.

From what I know OUO was never used as a press/photo car, it was only ever used as a demo.

If you want to send me the photos you've seen (or post them on this thread). I'll happily let you know if it's the same car or not. I suspect the car you've seen pictures of is the mule (pictured on page one of this thread) that was broken up to make the moulds.

Cheers

The car pictured above is the MPH '03 car. This car was a T350 shell with a Sagaris prototype front and back bonded to it. That car was dismantled for production patterns in order to become the Sagaris body master from which moulds were taken. It was destroyed in early'04

First out of the moulds was a silver pre-production car which got written off and has since been rebuilt and shipped to Switzerland sitting in somebody's collection.

The next out was the pre-production 'Candy' car

The next out of the mould was the "R/T Sagaris" PJ54 WNL. TVR had decided to start a Sagaris race series and all the shells were all cast with cut out vents etc etc, then at the last minute the series was cancelled. WNL was already pretty much built though (as the intended showcase), so they finished it and then displayed it around the dealers as a show car as to what a race Sag would have looked like.

The next out was a pre-production black car now owned by Dom at TVR Power.

The next two cars out of the mould were the first 'proper' cars which ended up as the press cars (Chem Orange PN05 OUL & Blue PN05 OUX).

The next car out was purple press car (PF05 AMO).

The next cars, as far as I know were the first customer cars.

I haven't even looked into whether this car is still available, but... I got the calculator out today and... erm, I'm tempted.

My T350c was Grigio Titanio with Red interior, my current T350t RR Lightweight is Grigio Titanio with Red interior... and so is this Sag. So its somewhat calling out to me.

I have no objections with my Targa, I absolutely love it. But my dream car has always been a Sagaris and if money was no object I would have bought a Sag in the first place.

Question to those out there.... where are values (for both) heading? Have the Sag's peaked? Will I feel like I've topped up many many £££'s to get the Sag but it will feel only slightly better to drive than the T350t? Or are they genuinely a completely different experience?

I hate the classifieds. Cheers all.

In the words of Nike - "Just do it". biggrin

Seriously though - they are rare, desirable and the last poster-child that the original TVR ever produced. Who cares about values - every time I open my garage and look at it I'm amazed it's mine. Seven years on. If you can afford do, do it. smile

I have both. The Sagaris is jaw droppingly nuts and handles as many have said before, sublimely. The T350t is similar, but different....I'm glad I can take the roof off the T350. It goes like a scalded cat, but doesnt handle as well as the Sagaris.....even tho they have both been set up by those terribly nice people at Blackboots in Chesham (Blackboots do all the geometry for DK Engineering....google DK Engineering and you will see why this is a significant point!) I love them both....like choosing a favourite child...its not possible...they are just, well....different...! As regards values....IMHO they will both continue to move in a northerly direction...no idea how 'quickly' or how much short term volatility there will be but they will both trend north.....you have to ensure you buy a good one tho...else it will be a money pit... all of this is just MHO of course smile

After a bit of further consideration, I'm happy with the T350t. More precisely, I can't justify £20-30k on what (in my head at least) won't be a different car. And I don't actually have the money so would have to borrow it. And I'm concerned values might take a turn once more details / pricing of the T37 are released. The T350t has the removable panels which do essentially give you 2 cars in 1. I've got such a peach of a T350t, its actually much rarer than any Sag. OK... and also I spoke with the Mrs and that didn't go quite as planned... nono

I will regret this I'm sure!

Ain't that the truth!

Although, once you've passed that first big hurdle, once you have the car, it's easy, all upgrades/parts cost a fraction of what you actually paid for them - or, you don't tell her at all, what they don't know....

When she found out I swapped the Coupe for the Targa... THAT was hilarious. I thought because it was exactly the same colour scheme, I could get away with not mentioning it. Thought she wouldn't notice the panels and wasn't aware what the number plate was on the old one.

It was the bloody logbook through the post that caught me out! She hadn't realised it was a different car for at least a week or two!

Brilliant!

More often than not its because they don't give a toss! Lol

Good idea tho, might bear that in mind if ever a Midas pearl targa comes up for sale?

Great thread, just read it from start to finish, I had the same conversation with the wife 'after' I bought the Tamora....

Bit of a thread hi-jak but looks like the above is sorted and you guys like a challenge! I wondered if anyone knows if my Tamora was used in any press shots, it was TMS Demonstrator and does anyone know if its the first Tam made?

Adding a pic, 1000 words etc

Cheers,
Jon
