Hi All

Happy New Year I hope everyone's coped if they're back at work todaywobble

I've currently have an optimatecharger which is about 8 years old which I use for the Tam which I normally plug in once the car is parked up for the winter. I'm looking for a new one and was wondering what's out there?t what the current technology is? Good or bad etc.I'm probably looking at one via the cigarette charger or are they a no no. The old charger will be used to keep the the race car battery on charge and a couple of spare batteries topped up etc.

Any help and direction would be great

Cheers

Buzz

My Optimate is currently plugged into the Sagaris's cigerette lighter socket, as was my Cerbera before that, and my Griff before that. Always worked a treat - a case of "if it ain't broke don't fix it'

Are you not having Brendan's battery cut off system fitted - I only ask, as I'm considering having it done at the end of the month

That's the battery brain gold system. He didn't know about them until I asked him to fit it biggrin

Quite a few threads on PH over the years about them.

Thanks and I agree but I asked if they'd been any improvements before I bought another one smile

Hi Bob

No I haven't but coincidentally I've been speaking with Brendan today about the order I've placed for my CF airbox.... I'll have a look at the the brain box later tonight but first impressions are why would I need one? I didn't see the point...but on saying that I was looking on the website with no reading glasses on my mobile smile so I could have just made up what I thought I'd read !

One of these:

It's 4 years old or so, I tend to keep my chargers on a time clock, so it's run for about a year or so. Selling as I have downsized a number of cars...

Buzz, I'll have to talk to Brendan about the benefits, every time I call him he puts a new idea for an upgrade in my head smile

Also, my Accumate is the same as Dons and has been on permanently for 6 years whilst the car is in the garage, never had a battery issue

Mine is fitted above the rear wheel inside the boot and I just have to plug it into a wall socket.
Works a treat and no need to use the cigarette lighter.
Can even lock the car once I've pressed the internal boot lock down
